they're fine, don't worry. they're a deity of human survival. they are the joy of the hunt and the feast, they are the wonder of art and human connection, they are the stories on the wall. and they love humankind.

I imagine they can be as small as a horse or as big as a blue whale. they're impossibly graceful. spotting them in the far distance means your hunt will be easy and successful. they are as solid as rock but their fur is soft and warm like a boulder in the sun. only a few humans have ever met them face to face, and those who have are allowed to add their hand print to their tail.

‘Manuel’ - Rodrigo (Rodrigo Muñoz Ballester)

‘Manuel’ was showed in the 1983 edition of ARCO, Madrid’s contemporary art fair. It was deemed “the first gay sculpture at the fair” and caused some commotion in Spain’s cultural scene. The artist, Rodrigo, made this sculpture based on a man he met and fell in love with at a public pool in 1976.

Rodrigo is also the author of a graphic novel (also titled Manuel, 1985) about his experience, and this is the last panel:
