So many of y'all saying you love my "smoking era" just puts a big, wheezy grin on my face.
One reason I decided to start taking pictures of myself smoking is to destigmatize it. There is no shame in being a smoker!
But yeah, fun little music things are in the works...

Not letting the art of Notes Poetry die
Never not thinking about the trans woman I met in a gay bar in a town I'll never go back to who said "gender roles are like chains, fun to use in bondage scenarios but largely irrelevant in daily life"
The very few but vocal critics that Women of Noise has (okay let's get real, it's mostly one salty ex-friend) saying that it's run exclusively by cis white women for other cis white women, when
I'm not cis (I'm closest to nonbinary femme)
We have five mods total - there's me and Julia, the two you see here on Tumblr, and then joining us on Instagram and Discord is Daisy (who's trans), Elena (who's Latina and from Ecuador), and Mae (who is black). 4 out of 5 of us are noise musicians, and we're all writers with a background in interviewing artists and covering events.
Every Women of Noise Fest has had very diverse performers, and it wasn't for the sake of "looking good", it's because I chose artists whose work I enjoy and deeply respect. This year alone we have an incredibly diverse pool of performers that's at least half made up of nonwhite performers and overwhelmingly queer and/or trans. I'm so blessed everyone wants to be a part of this Fest with enthusiasm.
I've come to learn that no matter how well you try to run things, there's always going to be somebody out there with a metaphorical measuring stick to see if you're "enough" by some kind of pseudo-intersectionality standard. We're over here doing out best, and I think that's what matters the most to the people who support us.

I really do think it's a damn shame neither Justin Broadrick or Jerry Cantrell ever did professional modeling. So many old Godflesh and AIC photo shoots look like fashion editorials.
