– Did I hear him right, Neverland? What a strange sounding place..
Disregarding her own surprise, Tamara took another step forward, trying to squint her eyes enough to see who it was she was speaking to. The soft moonlight lit up the silhouette of the stranger, but did not give her any other clues as to who he was or what he looked like, not that she’d know him from Adam, even if she could see him.
“ Neverland, eh? I’ve never heard of it, though it sounds made up to me.. “
Civilized, he felt that answering her question first made him civilized? Obviously, he knew not of whom he spoke with. Back in her home, Tamara was highly respected and obeyed, the Head Girl of her house, along with her twin brother Tom, so hearing such things were, to say the least, highly amusing.
“ You said it has no passage of time? How is such a land possible..and how are there no residents? “
Unbeknownst to the male Riddle, Tamara took quite an interest in the layout of the muggle world, and as far as she knew, no map that she’d ever looked at nor memorized held such a secret as Neverland. First things first, if she were going to get anywhere with this strange muggle, perhaps being a bit nicer would work to her advantage, nothing she’d not done before, manipulative tactics and all of that.
“ My apologies, I’ve always been wary of strangers..my name is Tamara Riddle, and who might you be? “
During her last words Killian had climbed off board, finding it hard to talk to someone he could not see very well. By then he doubted that this as one of Pan’s tricks, for she seemed truly unaware of Neverland and how it had come to be. Pan also had no real reason for any trickery at the moment, they’d pleased him with the latest delivery after all.
“Well, lass…” He began to talk as he stepped through the shallow waters, ever weary of mermaids that could be lurking near the Jolly Roger. “You see, this island has a magical river through which it’s powers spread all over Neverland. It provides time from passing, though it does get day eventually. We simply never age.”
He’d reached her then and just at that moment the clouds parted, causing the moonlight to shine upon them. Killian smirked at the rather handsome stranger. “Captain Killian Jones.” He introduced himself. “Though on this island I am usually called Captain Hook.” He slowly lifted his left arm, showing her the hook. “And what exactly brings you to this cursèd island?”
