no draagwave mev is kind of making me crazy bc normal mev has a kind of jovial childishness to them that’s more or less a survival mechanism and when they’re finally out and free they don’t need to do that anymore so whats left is the shell of gerard way from new jersey who’s jaded and a big recluse and the only way they can even begin to think about maybe processing what happened is to stare it in the face over and over again. so when they scream along with the recording of themselves they’re not even reliving any of it yet they’re just hoping magical realism still has a hold in their life and that somehow, someway baby MEV can hear this version of themself screaming back….

god. god. they definitely have a bit of a silly streak still, it kind of bubbles out of them when they can’t really control it. like they Do Bits even during the sets sometimes like dressing up as Her - but it’s really just for their own benefit and no one else’s. like nobody really Gets their jokes because they’re all about the band or about the MOAT or inside jokes that fucking sylvia came up with that it makes them sick to still find funny but they do. and they’re not really sure what to do about it so making music isn’t just about finding the easiest and most cathartic way to communicate themself to others but also really the only way they can hold a conversation between all their disparate parts. and maybe to some people the art they make to that end feels unsettling and scary but genuinely they’re having the time of their fucking life

What if.

The MEV and MEG are too recognizable and have been fucked up too much so theyre both still hiding in Draag doing stuff trying to live. They can’t really interact with each other too much bc together they’d be too recognizable and also it just hurts too much.

But Frank and Mikey (MERG and MEB? Idk) are somewhat more intact and less recognizable and have managed to get out of Draag and have become just extremely codependent in a deeply unhealthy way. And they are just trying to get by struggling hoping to find out what’s happening within Draag hoping the MEG and MEV are okay.

Alternatively I like the idea that the MEV somehow got out while the rest where still captured but doesnt have the mental/emotional/linguistic whatever ability to try and help the others. So is just being tormented by this unknown. (And maybe eventually some of the scene kids help rescue the others idk I want a happy ending)

ok first of all merg is KILLING me im gonna have to use their names for this

but this TOTALLY makes sense to me especially with the solitary setup omg like I totally forgot about that..I also agree that frank and mikey would be way more likely to get out of the country since having gone through essentially no reconditioning at all theyd be easily reconizable as themselves and (almost more importantly) as americans in need of assistance. which of course would mobilize the global west in a scenario where two famous white american men were trapped by an (ostensibly? idfk) communist dictatorship for fucking hundreds of years lol. but yeah id imagine that if they made it out without g and ray theyd be Extra fucked up and throw all their time and energy together into figuring out what happened to them.

I also totally agree that ray and g, even if they both stayed in draag, would definitely not stay Together for various reasons. I think they write to each other though...not about music or anything serious because thats too risky/difficult. but about little life things. and if one of them is passing through the others' area they always know where to find each other.

I wonder if the four of them planned their escape together but because of the different solitary schedules they got separated and werent able to find each other after...so maybe g/ray dont even know that frank and mikey got out and vice versa. I bet frank finds that youtube video of the concert in the field eventually though.
