I think She voluntarily goes through maintenance reconditioning as a way of keeping her eyes on The National Vision and getting rid of pesky doubts/anxieties and obviously she only wants the best. so of course she personally requests that sylvia oversee her reconditioning sessions. and while in the context of normal operations/the black parade project She outranks sylvia and has a lot of authority over her once they’re in that reconditioning room she totally submits. to the process. and sylvia is always happy to provide her patient with the brutal surety and guidance She craves. and obviously it’s also still a sex thing

no seriously this is so fucking good and im absolutely obsessed with her willingly submitting to sylvia. i feel like this can also factor into her being so controlling and in charge all the time. her doing this willingly is fucking me uppp in the best way possible. sacrificing herself and potentially her autonomy all for The Vision. losing parts of herself. sylvia overseeing her conditioning sessions is necessary because she knows how adept sylvia is at all of this. and She’s seen how sylvia whipped the MEV into shape. and She knows how easily sylvia can bend her during reconditioning, but all that matters as that She regains her control after. Okay so if Frank and Mikey got out what is Draag saying about the MEV and MEG. Like oh no we totally never had those guys? Uh they died? Is the MEV aware they used to be American at some point and have they tried to go to the embassy bc I think early in u said yeah and weren’t believed but if Frank and Mikey succeeded then why couldn’t they?

Personally I was imagining initially that Frank and Mikey couldn’t prove their identities or get to the US or anything but were living in like Lithuania idk pretending to be normal political exiles.

oh yeah no g 100% tried to get back to the states and was denied. the problem is despite them knowing fundamentally who they are because their brain and their accent are so fucked up they can’t effectively prove that they’re either american or who they say they are while frank and mikey are basically just Themselves but more traumatized so they have an easier time. like obviously not Easy easy but they are more easily readable as american and can recall specific enough details about their identities and lives + make more cogent arguments and the story is quite sensational so they get a lot of attention

draag’s official position is that yeah those two specific american guys were in the MOAT but it was all That Evil Head Nurse’s Fault For Perpetuating Abuses Under Our Nose so now that she’s imprisoned for her evilness get tf off our backs <3 and officially g and ray were never in the MOAT because no one outside the country can prove it

tbh g probably got rejected BECAUSE ray and mikey got out first and the embassy was like yeah ok just because those guys were two actual imprisoned americans doesn’t mean every draagoshka defector can just claim reconditioning and get a free ride to the greatest country on earth 🙄

how do you think draagwave dj mev would feel about the black parade songs? i don't think they would sample them like the reconditioning tapes but there would be like. very very subtle and specific nods to them here and there. in a very ironic way i think

it kind of feels like music that someone else made I think. like obviously they know these songs better than they know spoken language atp but they just dont feel connected to it emotionally the way they think they maybe should, and plus the entire album is illegal to own nowadays so they dont hear it nearly as much as they would have before (though they personally own at least one tape of it). they definitely do Bits about it during performances though like you said like sometimes at roughly the 30 minute mark at the transition between songs they just start barking

hi prev i think maybe after the first couple times they hit themselves during a show somebody hits them spontaneously during the next show and they rock with it lowkey. and going forward the crowd seems to decide collectively who gets to hit them each time and it becomes an unofficial part of the Experience.

the reason sylvia is like that is because marianne used to make her get on all fours and play “seeing eye dog” with her (marianne would yank on a “leash” made from their mom’s scarf and say “bark when there’s something in the way dog!”) and their parents wouldn’t intervene bc they thought it was cute
