i’m crying my eyes out right now because this year started off so so terribly for shinee but all year jinki, kibum, minho and taemin have been working so hard and being so strong to make themselves and us and jonghyun proud and 11 months later we have them all with new projects and accomplishments and they’re saying they’re happy and they mean it. i’m so so proud of them and everything they’ve done this year i really love them with all my heart

anyway, i refuse to let people define shinee only by their biggest tragedy, i refuse to let people define jonghyun only by the end, when they are all so much, so much more than that. they’re now more than a decade of hard work and dedication to their crafts. 10 years of korean and japanese music releases. 10 years of active influence on dance, fashion and music and setting trends in all areas. 10 years of performances and concerts and tours. 10 years of mistakes and great struggles and even greater accomplishments and groundbreaking achievements. 10 years of making a noticeable and tangible impact on the music industry.

they’re the kings of feel good music. as sm’s experimental boy group, they’ve made songs in more than a dozen genres; r&b, funk, edm, rock, waltz, electropop, house, dance hall, complextro, only to name a few. they’ve danced to choreos breaking gender stereotypes. jonghyun and taemin, if not paved, they at least molded the way for idols within a group to make solo projects. they’re thriving and making waves and legacies in all of their individual activities, whether that’s a solo music career, acting in musicals and films and tv, endeavors in fashion, or being a tv or radio host, amongst many things.

they’re sooo funny, they’re the kings of comedy and jokes, and every member has once expressed how they only want to bring comfort and happiness in people’s lives and they have honestly succeeded every day and have brought so much happiness to millions of fans, it’s impossible to quantify. jokes and laughter that never really disappear, but keeps coming back to us in bits and pieces all the time, and all the jokes and laughter now and in the future too.

so if you’re asking me, the happiness they’ve brought to my life outweighs my heart literally breaking, and i consider myself incredibly lucky to have them in my life and if i had to choose again, i would choose to let them into my life every time.

sm entertainment has officially confirmed the release of shinee’s sixth korean album, the story of light. via press release they have revealed that the album will be split up into three parts, or ep’s (extended play), with five songs on each album and a title track for each with activities for all. each of the parts will be released every other monday between late may and late june and will have individual titles: 💿 ep.1: monday, may 28th 💿 ep.2: monday, june 11th 💿 ep.3: monday, june 25th note: as of right now there has been no word as to whether or not the album will include songs with jonghyun. the articles only emphasis that the comeback will be shinee’s first domestic as five, but does not allude to if it will be the same on the album or not.
