We Have to Push Harder

This era is making us all stronger.

There are large, well funded, coordinated groups- trying to enslave humanity and push civil rights back hundreds of years.

We've all been so divided and distracted and hopeless and overworked that we kind of watched it happen in real time.

But I'm seeing people wake up.

It isn't enough to whisper disapproval online.

When the fascists pull right

What works is to pull as hard as we can to the left.

So that maybe we end up somewhere in the middle.

Look at Mamdani's success. And how much it terrifies the propaganda machine. Fox News has mentally enslaved half the population to fear progress. Because they call it communism. They call it crime.

It's like tug of war. And the fascists are pulling as hard as they can. I'm envisioning that SQUIDGAME scene with the platforms. They want us dead. They want to win and kill us so we stop fighting them.

So the solution?

Be more queer. Be more punk. Anarchist. Socialist. Green. Kind. Local.

And make THEM fucking uncomfortable.

Jake fucking Lang showed up at the BET awards with signs of black apes that said "Black Parents are Failures."

Fuck AI

I'm a doctor.

My company got bought by a new owner.

We're losing our subscription to UPTODATE- a medical database where we can review articles and look things up. UPTODATE articles are summaries written by HUMAN experts, updated yearly. It's a trusted source of information.

As a substitute, the new company suggested OPEN EVIDENCE.

I signed up for an account, but realized pretty quickly it's AI.

The search bar says "ask a medical question" and spits out an AI response that tells you what to do.

And I was like NOPE.

My medial degree cost me half a million dollars in loans that took decades to pay off.

My medical degree took a decade of my time, my happiness, my youth and my freedom.

I did not work that hard and sacrifice that much- developing MY OWN SEARCH ENGINE (mah brain)- to start letting fucking AI make medical decisions for me.

They give us a stipend for continuing medical education (CME). I'm gonna use that money to get myself an UPTODATE prescription.

And I posted about it on the doctor chat- so folks know that's an option. "I have serious ethical and environmental concerns about AI and will not be using this."

Like- please don't build data centers in poor neighborhoods so we can be lazy.

It feels like a threshold. The way holding your first alcoholic drink is a threshold. Do I keep living my human life. Or do I start using this thing, that wants to profit off me.
