Honestly, Mateo died happy. He was so excited, love struck, and peaceful when he got up to go make some tea. He died practically instantly with only half a second of regret. Knowing that makes me feel better about his death... Rufus's is another story. His death was quick aswell, but he spent his last moments grieving Mateo. The boy who set him free, the boy who showed him life, and the boy who he loved more than anything. I just hope Rufus felt some spark of joy listening to Mateo sing for him one last time before he had to die.
