This unique Nutcracker is both inclusive and diverse. The dazzling Ingrid Silva of Dance Theater of Harlem guests as the Sugar Plum Fairy in a gorgeous pas de deux with Dylan Santos. Costumes designed by Rebecca Pailes Friedman with tech genius supplied by Nicholas Vermeer of NYC Resistor. ⭐️ Two more performances left : This Saturday, December 16th. A little less than a year after this moment, captured at Carnegie Hall, the great mezzo soprano Joyce DiDonato received yet another Grammy nomination for 2017 Best Classical Solo Vocal Album for : "In War & Peace".

It's a moving, daring work that lovingly conceived by this multi-Grammy award winner, with a mission and message that's more timely than ever. If you were fortunate enough to see Joyce, the dancer Manuel Palazzo and the orchestra Il Pomo D'Oro perform together, then you know why this nomination is so well deserved. Music does indeed, have the power to create change.

Joyce created her makeup ('War' for Act I, 'Peace' for Act 2) every night, with her own hands, in the pressurized rush between acts. The makeup itself, was a work of art.

The hyper articulate, vastly talented costume designer for Hulu "Handmaids Tale", Ane Crabtree, spoke last week at the United Nations, to commemorate the International Day to End Violence against Women. She joined the wide ranging discussion led by U.N. Bureau Chief Sherwin Bryce-Pease , which featured U.N. Secretary General, U.N. Women Executive Director, Actress Carey Mulligan and Handmaid’s Tale Creator, Bruce Miller. The initiative runs for 16 days and its motto is ‘Orange the World’ which was echoed in the orange scarves and apparel worn proudly by attendees. Crabtree bravely added her voice of support to the campaign and owned the #metoo hashtag in a deeply personal way. Learn more at UNWomen.org Photo © Kimberly M. My collaboration with the inspiring, electric, and incredibly talented ballerina Ingrid Silva, of the Dance Theater of Harlem, was a joy to shoot for Four and Sons Magazine.

Hailing from Brazil, and a New Yorker since the age of 18, Ingrid thrills audiences with her artistry and passion. Behind the scenes, it's her French Bulldog, Frida Kahlo, who is one of the secrets of Ingrid's creative process.
