Lapis didnât even need to ask if My Melody wanted to continue participating; she was already more than willing to help out. Art could be lots of fun (even if she wasnât very good at it).âAh, okaaay~ !!â She set down her basket, and then she enthusiastically ran over to the new patch of chalk on the sidewalk.Â
Skidding to a halt, she looked back up at Lapis; waiting for direction. âMy Melo is ready to make art!â Hopefully this would look better than that one macaroni art she made back in kindergarten. What a mess that was!
âYes! Youâre a real one, dude!â Lapis grinned, scanning the canvas of color. âHeadâŚsix stepsâŚdue west!â
Lapis raised one of her water wings with a glow of her gem, pointing it in the direction she called, just in case My Melody wasnât too good at figuring out where to go. Even though organics lived under and by the movement of the sun, they didnât all know how to chart with it.
âAnd thenâŚstop!â Lapis crouched down, never taking her eyes off the picture as she felt around with one hand for her chalk. She picked up a yellow one and surveyed the canvas. âLooking good, huh?â
flynniâ:
â⌠Why are you calling me a worm?â
âOh, I meant like worm! You know, like same! Cuz...the beach, yaâ know?â
flynniâ:
âSpring is over, Iâm going to the beach.â
âWorm.â
âRainbow! Do rainbow next!â
âMy commissions are open. I can paint your portrait...or like, your catâs, or whatever...âÂ

My Melody glanced up at Lapis, tilting her head as she did so. âEh?â If this had been a cartoon a question mark wouldâve appeared above her head. This girl mustâve really been into art, and while My Melody could respect that, she had a difficult time understanding all the words that Lapis was using. âWellâŚit does look very nice to My Melo!â
She took a few steps back; copying Lapis by using her paws as a photo-viewer while looking at the artwork. âYes, I can see it! Hee heeâŚ!â Somehow she was able to get a different perspective just by taking a few steps back. âIâm no artist, but I think youâve done a very good job miss!â
âAnd weâre going to make it even better!â Lapis reached for a stick of white chalk and began scribbling a patch of color nearby. Working up a sweat, she inadvertently brushed chalk on her cheek as she wiped her forehead.
âOkay, go ahead and step into this.â Lapis pointed at the chalk patch sheâd made. She backed up again, surveying the canvas so that she could carefully direct her where to walk. Asking if My Melody even wanted to continue to participate didnât even occur to her. She was too busy making sure her phone had enough battery to get a perfect picture of this when it was all done.Â

âI canât believe itâs already almost summer!â Anna spreads her arms wide, twirling in a circle as she basks in the beauty of the sunâs rays. Itâs been a long winter, almost one that felt like itâd never end! As she crashes her back into the railing, Anna gleams, looking over at the gem by the boardwalk, âEven the sea is beginning to smell great, I canât wait to sunbatheââ
âItâs even almost my birthday⌠oh my gods, my birthday.â Anna looked over her shoulder with a raised brow, âIâm getting totally old and I didnât even realize it.â
Lapis just wordlessly gave the air a few sniffs. The weird smells of Earth were no longer foreign to her scent-sponge. Extra salty air with hints of seagull feathers. She made a mental note to collect some for her art.
As per usual, she began to take off her sandals and they vanished when no longer connected to her body. She then stuck her feet off the boardwalk and onto the sand.
âEh. The Earth seasons are too mild for me to even feel. I went swimming when there was snow on the ground.â She then finally looked over to study the human girl. Ah, super cute.
âBirthdayâŚthatâs when you pop out of the ground, erââ That was gems. âI mean, your mom, or whatever?â She chuckled. âYou wanna feel old? Trying losing track of your facet number, like, five-thousand years agoâŚâ She took a tentative step further onto the sand.
Lapis loves her nose. Raise your hand if you love Pearlâs nose, too! â
Also Lapis took off her sandals for cuddling. :D

If it wasnât for Lapisâs complaint, My Melody wouldnât have noticed she was walking all over a piece of beautiful artwork. Sheâd been following a butterfly around in the hopes that it might want to be her friend; but alas, as soon as she stopped, the butterfly continued on out of her reach. âYaan! Oh my goodness, Iâm so sorry!â But this was more important.Â
My Melody was quick to step back and off of Lapisâs artwork. She was more than ready to make up for her blunder, but just as she was going to say something else, Lapis seemed to accept her accidental contribution to the piece. ââŚ.Really? My myâŚâ
âYeah.â Lapis said to herself in growing excitement as she took half a step back, eyes and smile widening as the starry sky drawing dotted with paw prints came fully into view.
Lapis spread her wings, taking flight to hover several meters up, hands out, fingers as a photo-viewer as she took in the whole picture before gently floating back down.
âThis is really something! You know, animal print is vintage, but I really think we could make it new age!â Lapis looked over at My Melody and nodded as if the little bunny understood her art jargon. âBecause, Iâm an Era Three artist, you know. I donât wanna regress.â
âItâs Earth Day, so you punks best appreciate everything I did for this place.â
