Notes From Neal 6.2
Greetings Eastside Eliters,
It’s been yet another exciting week here at the gym!
For those of you that missed it, we had former games champion Graham Holmberg out to the gym with Onnit to host a friendly competition targeted towards Austin’s best CrossFit athletes. We had a total of 8 teams show up, including your very own Team Elite consisting of Justin Kerr, Vincent Barbosa, Sean McEachern, and Brianna Larson. It was a fierce competition consisting of 2 events which our team finished 2nd overall! Make sure to give these guys a pat on the back when you see them. Thank you to everyone who came out to show their support.
On the MMA side of things, we had Micah Valdez compete in his first Jiu Jitsu tournament in Dallas at the Europa Super Show. This is a huge milestone for him and we want to recognize all his hard work. Also, Luke Filipos and Juan Gandara competed in a Muay Thai smoker matches this past weekend in San Marcos. They both had awesome fights that you can watch here: Juan's Fight Luke's Fight
It is great to have so many athletes to recognize for their dedication and level of commitment to their sport. Competition keeps us from becoming complacent with our training. It helps us see how far we have come and rejuvenates our passion as well as motivates us to become the best athletes possible. Whether you are competing against others or yourself, you should always be competing to be the best you can be. Great job out there representing Eastside Elite and keep up the good work.
Train hard and stay safe,
Neal Cantin
Manager & Head Trainer at Eastside Austin Elite
