One of my coworkers lost her home a few days ago due to a fire. She is a single mother to two teenage children, plus two kitties. All are safe and healthy, however they are displaced and have lost everything. Please help if you can, and share so others can help too!

I don't buy avocado very often because of how expensive it can be, but after reading this article I think it's worth it to just buy the damn things anyway. I had no idea avocados were such a superfood. Plus, they're delicious!!
You know, I used to hate eating healthy. I mean, I love fresh vegetables and I like fruit well enough, but I really wasn't a fan of whole grains and things like Greek yogurt. As I was trying to eat healthy I couldn't stop thinking about how much I wanted to just eat a whole damn pizza with a Pepsi to wash it down. But this morning as I was making myself breakfast (of Dave's Killer Bread toast with Adam's peanut butter and plain Greek yogurt with fresh blueberries) I actually felt an immensely strong feeling of happiness and pride in the breakfast I was about to eat. Kind of weird, feeling proud of your food, but it's the truth. Eating healthy, good-for-you food is now incredibly satisfying for me. I honestly don't know when the switch flipped in my brain, but I'm glad it did. Maybe it's just that I've recently started taking the time to take care of myself instead of other people. Either way, I love being a healthy eater. No offense to pizza and Pepsi (I stopped drinking soda a month ago. HUGE accomplishment for me by the way), but not only do I feel far more satisfied with my eating habits now, I feel so much better. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Thanks for reading! ^_^
I decided I needed to up my protein game. I just read today that your body burns more calories from processing protein than it does from processing carbs and fat. I probably should have known that already, but I did. Learn something new every day! :D Hopefully this will be enough to start out with. Already have chicken and tons of veggies in my fridge and freezer, hence the lack of representation in the photo. ;)

Yet another gem I ran across on Facebook. I’m not sure if this is a full list of companies that use Monsanto products, but given how short the list is I’m going to guess that it’s only a partial list. Honestly, I’m a little surprised at some of the names on this list, i.e. those companies that fool you into thinking their product is better for you than other products. It may still be true, but if you use Monsanto products to make what you sell, you’re still persona non grata to me! Good thing I stopped drinking Pepsi! Seeing them on the list makes me sad. lol.
Funny how Monsanto always seems to slip under the media radar.....
I wonder how long it takes them to round up all the chickens at the end of the day.... O_o
