Will Tablets Replace Laptops?
For a few years now there has been speculation that tablets could replace the trusty laptop, but the screen size, software and lack of keyboard were all powers that the laptop held over them…until now.
Marketed as being the “laptop replacement”, Microsoft’s new Surface Pro 3 is faster and bigger-screened than the previous Windows 8 tablet, the Surface 2. Boasting a 12inch touchscreen display, a fourth generation Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor and a resolution of 2160 x 1440, the Surface Pro 3 promises power and productivity so you can use it for both work and play.
The Surface Pro 3 also comes with an integrated Kickstand, aluminium Pen and Palm Block Technology, as well as the ability to install and run all the Windows Software and slot it into the Surface Pro Type, meaning users can do exactly what they would on a laptop, and then some.

Will You be taking part in National Work From Home Day?
For those of you who aren’t yet aware, this week is Work Wise Week, aiming to promote a flexible work life, as well as reducing costs, seeing improvements in productivity and overall employee wellbeing.
Virtual meetings, smarter travel, mobile working and working remotely are all main focusses of the scheme and with developments in technology soaring, teleworking is now becoming even more feasible. Thanks to smartphones, virtual networks and videotelephony, gone are the days when everyone needs to have a physical place of work.
Friday 16th May marks the ninth annual National Work from Home Day, encouraging people to stay at home, motivate themselves and do their full working day from the comfort of their homes, rather than making the commute to their workplace. StoreDot - An Innovation for Smartphones?
Leading electrical company Ebuyer.com take a look at the announcement of the StoreDot prototype.
The World’s fastest smartphone battery was revealed at the Tel Aviv technology conference on the 8th April 2014.
StoreDot is said to be able to fully charge a smartphone from no power to full battery in just 30 seconds, and in a day and age when people are connected to their phones near enough 24/7, this is a revolutionary concept.
Founded by Dr Myersdorf, StoreDot relies on bio-organic nanodots to help enable rapid charging. The company first announced that they were going to utilise peptide-based nanotechnology for smartphones and tablets in August 2013 and received $6million in funding to go ahead with the idea.
In an interview with The Next Web, Dr Myersdorf said: “The breakthrough technology in StoreDot Nanodots is that they demonstrate diverse physical and electrochemical properties at nanoscale, including visible luminescence, showing red, green and blue colours that enhance the new generation display technology.”
According to the www.digitaltrends.com the battery is currently the size of a laptop charger but StoreDot are confident that they can reduce its size by the time it will be released to the public, which should be by 2016.
Although it is only at prototype level at the moment, the concept of the StoreDot battery holds plenty of promise and could prove to be extremely useful, both at consumer and business level.
