Had the idea that after Thomas pierced his ears Remus wanted more so he would use random things like nails, thumb tacks, safety pins, etc. as earrings, and I came up with the little comic between him and Janus
Lil doodle for Chapter 14 of Te Tueor, a Sanders Sides fanwork I am posting on AO3! This project has been my first time engaging with an online community pretty much at all; I am so glad to have found such a wonderful community and such amazing support here!! <3
When Thomas has a lot of strong emotions, it’s really tiring for Patton, and not just in the normal way. Thomas might want to relax at home afterwards, browse the internet, binge a show late into the night, but Patton? Patton wants bed. Things that are emotionally tiring, for the Side who covers Thomas’s emotions, become physically tiring.
The Sides know this. What they don’t know is that the same applies to Virgil, especially when the emotion in question is fear or worry. He represents some of Thomas’s emotions too, after all.
Just imagining a high stress situation for Thomas or even a panic attack.
And while it is happening Virgil is on full alert, as active as can be trying to think of all the dangers and all possible solutions and what to do and, and, and...
And then, as soon as Thomas calms down Virgil just fully collapses. His body just goes:" oh, everything is settled? Welp, time to knock out!"
(Soooo I did get carried away and wrote a bit more than expected, so I'm just gonna put that under the cut if you do want to read it)
Before he became part of the lights, he would just be in his room, preferably on his bed, and hope no one came in while he was unconscious and defenceless (Janus did once check in on him because he did just witness Thomas having a massive panic attack and wanted to see how Virgil was doing. He pulled a blanket over him and quietly left, banning Remus from entering anytime Thomas had strong anxiety)
But then it happened infront of Roman once. They were out and Thomas got a panic attack. And (like in that animated episode) Virgil and Roman were standing with Thomas, so Roman could witness first hand how much an anxiety attack affects Virgil. He was frantic, trying to get Thomas somewhere safe, the toilets? no too many people; that corner, no too open, anyone could attack; the car! We ned the car, GET TO THE CAR!!!!
And as soon as they are in the car and Virgil does a final check over everything, he just crumples. Switch flicked, lights out.
The first time Roman is too slow, still in shock with the whole situation. Because yes, at first he was annoyed that Virgil was going to destroy their chances at finding true love in this mall! But then, witnessing the true extent of what an anxiety attack looks like for Virgil, he is mainly concerned about him, especially because he is currently just an unmoving lump beside him.
so of course he picks him up (bridal style like any good prince) and carries him to Logan's room cause surely he knows what is happening!
Luckily Patton is also there and can explain what probably happened because it happens to him too, anytime Thomas just generally has strong emotions! But never to the extent of total knockout.
So now, whenever Roman sees Thomas panicking or even having some minor anxious thoughts he rushes over to wherever Virgil currently is and makes sure he is ok during and after. Sometimes he even gets to catch him from falling after a panic attack.
And while Virgil acts a bit annoyed at being pampered everytime and Roman claims it's what any good Prince would do, neither of them object to cuddling up in bed and relaxing together. Because as much as he loathes to admit it, Virgil does feel better when he can snuggle up to Roman and finally be safe himself, after desperately trying to keep Thomas safe.
