I headcanon that the Domino Twins caused so much chaos in the 501st, not because Fives would get into trouble, but because Echo could get him out of it.

The higher-ups would come after Fives for something he'd done, but because Echo knew the regulations back-to-back, it meant that he was fully aware of all of the loopholes. So while the higher-ups knew that Fives had done something he shouldn't have, he could never be reprimanded because Echo could argue that technically he hadn't broken any rules.

I also headcanon that Fives would come to Echo with questions about whether certain "hypothetical" scenarios would be against regulations and Echo would 100% go along with it.

he was there for Fives when Echo "died" and he was most likely the one that told Echo that Fives had died and how he died.

even further than that Fives was his closest brother (at least in fanon) and they had a bond close to the one the bad batch have with each other so imagine being Echo seeing the bad batch brothers in the beginning knowing he lost his closest brother/twin while he was gone and that Fives believed him to be gone.
