⟢ Whalecome to my blog! I'm NKW-387 Echo, a bull Norwegian orca that's living in captivity in the US. I go by she/they/it/he pronouns; no preference for any, use whichever you'd like. I'm somewhere on the ace spectrum, most likely lithromantic, and I'm pansexual

⟢ This blog features posts mainly about orcas as they're my most prominent identity, but I may also talk about my other sea animal identities such as a humpback whale, and even a polar bear (yes, they're technically classified as a marine mammal!). I'm a physical alterhuman, also known as a holothere. You can find my orca theriotypes list here, and my full alterhuman identities list here

⟢ I believe in evolution and reincarnation. On the topic of reincarnation, I believe that I was Mamuk and Kalina in past lives, and I'm a walk in soul of Tilikum and Nakai. Doubles are welcomed here. I also believe that I'll be an orca at Chimelong in the future named Jiulong. You can also call me by any of these names if you wish

⟢ No dni as I can't control who interacts with me. If there's something about you I don't like, I'll block you. I generally try to stay out of discourse. I don't mind spamming because I always have my Do Not Disturb on, but I frequently check it. All beings are welcomed here. Okay, so a LOT of stuff happened today

First I visited my grandma with my sister and her boyfriend, and we went to the pool and burger king together, as well as my grandma's house.

This time I actually got to try my monofin at the pool. At first I was kind of struggling but once I got used to it, holy euphoria. I barely had to move and I was speeding through the water. My legs couldn't accidentally move apart so I actually felt like my body was an orcas. And usually when I'm swimming I have a hard time swimming at the bottom because for some reason I always float right back up, but when I was using the monofin I wasn't floating to the top and was able to go whenever I wanted and stayed right where I was.

While I was at the pool I saw something at the bottom and went after it and found a little whale toy that I've since searched up and found out it was from burger king from 2004 for Sharktales, and it was called Play 'N Spray Whale. It had a little wind up thing at the bottom that made the tail move up and down, but it didn't move in the water very well and mostly just sunk. I wasn't planning on keeping it but there were no other kids at the pool because kids are still on school around my grandma's area, and nobody cared when I had it and didn't seem to pay any attention.

I also started talking and interacting with my sisters boyfriend more, and I really like him. He's funny and really nice. He does anything anybody asks and is generally a really kind guy. He's even nice to my sister's dad who dislikes him a lot, and does whatever he asks. He also drives really fast and when he kept apologizing to me for it I told him I liked driving fast and crazy (well, ya know, I'm not the one driving cuz I'm 14), and ever since I told him that he drives really fast and crazy to make me laugh. I honestly hope this one stays because all my sister's previous boyfriends have been abusive and controlling, and have threatened my sister to hurt me if they don't listen to her. But I can tell this guy is genuinely a good guy and loves my sister.

Commissions open!! kinda urgent

Hello! My family is in a bit of a rough spot right now financially; we keep coming up short for the Wi-Fi bill and now the water bill as well. Our only functioning vehicle is my dad's truck, though it's not doing good and may break down at any moment (the air conditioning in it also stopped working recently and it gets really hot in Texas). All support is appreciated, even just a reblog <3

I have all my commission info on my website for those interested, but here's a quick rundown:

I am most experienced in drawing dragons and anthro characters, but humanoids and other ferals are no problem

I offer three different style choices, one lined style and two painted styles

Payment is via PayPal invoice, due in full upfront or after the sketch is approved

For a single character, my usual pricing can range from $40-$65 with an additional character being +60% of the price. But I also do simple headshot icons for $25

Turnaround time may be anywhere from a week to a month or so depending on complexity, how many comms I get, and how hectic my life decides to be- but I will always send updates

So I recently watched The Sea Beast, and it was an awesome movie, definitely one of my new favorites. And I've been questioning being one of the sea beasts, Blue.

(Spoilers for The Sea Beast below!)

The only issue is that when I see myself as Blue I'm a female, but Blue is a male. So I wondered if I was related to him as a sister or something, but I see myself living with Jacob and Maisie on the island that they lived at at the end of the movie where they took Blue to live with them.

It has been quite a long time since last I drew. I had started this drawing before the explosion and have been unable to draw since. I did finally finish it tonight and it feels nice to finally have done.

So I go onto TikTok (big mistake there already) because I want to watch clips of Norwegian orcas. Already annoyed because most of the videos are people swimming with Norwegian orcas, but I soon come across a video that makes me even more mad.

So in the video multiple people are seen walking around the back of the boat looking down into the water with a woman in the middle who was the main focus of the video. All of them were looking at orcas who were swimming up to the boat and following it. The woman was leaning against the railing of the boat, literally about to fall off as she tried reaching down into the water to touch the orcas. And she eventually managed to do so with a female who was getting the closest.

Now obviously my first instinct is to go in the comments to see what people have to say about it, and some are to no one's surprise saying stuff like "you could never get me to touch an orca" and "What if it bites your hand" or "What if it grabs you and drags you under the water" and stuff like that, but most of the comments are obviously telling the woman that that's illegal and she can't do that.

Her response?

"It's not illegal because the boat was moving and they were following me, and the orcas were coming up to me so they wanted me to pet them"

Oh my god. I don't even have words. First of all, it is one hundred percent illegal to touch an orca even if they come up to you. You cannot. Touch. Them. Period. And second of all, you could clearly see the orcas backing away and slowing down to get away from her every time she reached for them.

So many ways both her and the orcas could have gotten hurt during this, such as the woman falling in or the orcas getting cut by the propellers of the boat and so many other ways something bad could have happened. I hope she got in trouble because it was a public post and you could clearly see her and the other people's faces.

These are mask comms that I finished in February and never posted cuz I was still recovering from top surgery- super freaking happy with this mourning dove and how sweet looking their face came out-

I’ve been very very intensely bird shifty recently and I honestly kinda want to remake my crow mask. We’re in the midst of moving at the moment, but once we’re at the new place, I’m gonna start on some prototype wings, because the mask really doesn’t cut it with wing shifts. I miss having wing prosthetics that fit, but I’ve grown out of all mine and I NEED new ones.

FIRST CETACEAN!!! Figuring out how to make mask that maintains visibility while simultaneously still looking like a dolphin was complicated oh my gods- I am quite pleased with how it did turn out tho. If I do make others in the future, I think I am gonna try and find a different method of making the surface beyond using slightly smother fabric to cover it and putting five hundred layers of primer on it ;-;

I love this rat. So much. And this is the very first time I’d done whiskers; I just used fishing line, but I think they look pretty good and seemed to hold up alright!

Whats your favorite orca pod in captivity, and your favorite orca in it?

My favorite orcas pods are a tie between Chimelong Spaceship and SeaWorld San Diego. I think about them a lot and often daydream about those places, and wish to hopefully one day visit one of them or even both.

As for favorite, I can't choose one I like more than the others. For Chimelong my favorites are Tyson, Sonya, Katenka, Katniss, and Bandhu. My favorites for SeaWorld San Diego are Corky ii, Keet, and lately Shouka and Ikaika have been growing on me :]

Society would rock so much if you could be open about being alterhuman and it was just a normal thing to be. I like to fantasize about a kinder world like that.

Like we could go see mermaids perform in those tail covers (mermaid performances are a thing but imagine if it was way more common and normalized and full of actual mermaids!)

The gym could have group quadrobics sessions for different species (canine, feline, rodent .ect)

Angels could meet up at custom built “cathedral” like buildings full of pearl strands and stained glass and discuss their lives amongst humans over tea and cake.

Toy/doll/stuffed animal people could sew people sized clothes that look like doll clothes and play dress up together.

Zombies and ghosts could clean and maintain graveyards and honor the dead.

Bird folk could mix albums of their calls and wear wigs of faux feathers.

Grocery stores would sell kibble shaped snacks.

Furniture stores would sell nests and pet-style beds in person sizes.

People could publish memoirs of past lives or kin memories.

All plural people would be treated with respect and accepted as normal people too of course.

You could ask anyone if they identify as another species and they would understand it and maybe they would say they aren’t human either.

The fight against other forms of oppression will lead the way to a world safe enough to begin advocating for alterhumans. Society needs to first accept those who are queer, disabled, culturally different, neurologically different, and visually different.
