Just thought I'd mention that I am currently trying to work on a plot outline for the first part of my Cranium Command AU, which would be "Cranium Command: Birds of A Feather". It is the story where Buzzy and Cortex meet and the one I have planned out the most, so obviously, it's worth starting with that. As such, I'm probably gonna keep certain talks about the plot of the AU to a minimum. While I'm willing to yap about lore stuff, chances are, if it's something important that will play out in a story, I'll try to keep my mouth shut until I'm finally able to release something. Telling is fun, but showing is better.

As for what my approach might be, currently, the style I'm considering is similar to a story book with illustrations to further captivate people's interest. Due to this, Tumblr will probably be one of the few platforms I'll upload it to, since the blog style of this site works best for what I have in mind. I haven't worked out how many images I'll make, how many separate posts it'll require or even if I'll devide it to several chapters. For now, what I have to focus on is blocking out the important events and then trying to flesh it out into an actual story.

I’m sure I’ve uploaded the previous lineup for the main robot characters in “Soul in The Machine”. Regardless, this is the most up to date version, as I’ve revised Vinyl, Rocket and R.J.’s designs a bit. They mostly remain the same, though with subtle changes. I'm now gonna draw Vinyl with eyebrows more often, since I think it gives them more personality. I'm also gonna lean into their ear lights having multiple colors at once. Multiple emotions can be experienced simultaneously, so it would make sense if all the corresponding colors showed up depending on how their feeling.

Rocket got a bunch of changes compared to the other two. I just didn't like how skinny I made him recently, so I decided to change his design back to the chubbier look he had. Plus, the character he was originally built as isn't supposed to be skinny to begin with, although Rocket is supposed to have different body proportions so that he can actually walk.

R.J. has like, only two significant changes, and it's the addition of linear towards the bottom of the pant legs and simplifying the shoes. The former makes the design a bit more interesting, and the latter just makes him easier to draw.

General Knowledge has been sitting as a sketch for a while, so here he is finally finished. He doesn’t look much different in my AU. The only change was giving him green eyes.

I completely neglected to share this piece. Though making super detailed art of cetaceans is fun, I kinda want to start going for a more stylized approach as it would probably stand out more. This doesn’t mean detailed pieces will no longer be made, just that I want to do more experimenting with stylized work. Plus it’s more consistent with the type of art I do more often. For now, enjoy this Icelandic orca.

Guess I'm doing a lot of bear-related animatronic stuff. Idk, Bear is my favorite fur color in the second release of the original Furby. Not that the other colors are bad. They just don't catch my attention as much.

Apart from the superficial fact of them being a robotic pet, one thing that makes the original Furby so cool is the fact that no two Furbies will be exactly the same even with the same fur color. Some aspects are intentional, such as the eye color, name and the pitch of their voice, while others are more on the unintentional category, such as the way the ears look, mane/tail fur length, beak color and body shape. In the case of this particular bear Furby, I went for the slightly taller look, with a really fluffy fur tuft and narrow almost deer-like ears and a lighter color beak. Some of these traits are more-so tied to the factory they were made in, while others are probably just a result of how the fabric patterns turned out when they were cut. Either way, it just makes Furbies that much more intriguing.

Back to some stylized animatronic art with Billy Bob from the Rock Afire Explosion. Considering how I based an entire OC on him, I thought it would be fair if I drew this type of piece of him. He's not my favorite member of the RAE, but he's still special to me in some way.

Within my long history of fixating on animatronics, the Rock Afire Explosion is probably the first restaurant chain band that I fixated on. By this point in time, I still had a bit of a negative opinion towards these types of bots and only viewed them as cheap creepy sideshows that no one actually liked, and while I can't exactly pinpoint when I decided to actually give them a chance, seeing the actual artistry behind it and the niche but dedicated community changed my opinion on them.

Happy 626 Day! By pure coincidence, I was actually working on a render for an OC who is partially based on Stitch, until I checked the date. Of course, I set that aside to work on this Stitch render. He is one of my favorite alien characters, after all.

I don't post enough about my original work, so I thought I'd catch up with that. Here's a piece featuring the main characters of "Soul in The Machine", Rocket, Vinyl and R.J. I just put them in a bus stop scene to kinda explore what they each do while waiting. Rocket's rather impatient, so instead of actually trying to find something to do, he just spends his time being absolutely pissed off at the fact that he has to wait. Vinyl is quite easily entertained by simple things, so they often just fidget around with something like a feather or in other cases, they just imagine something fun. R.J. has a low social battery, so he just sits in the corner looking at his phone, though he will talk to Vinyl... and at times argue with Rocket about how impatient he's being.

Celebrating Father's Day with some OCs for my Cranium Command AU, with Sparky being Buzzy's dad and Galen being Cortex's uncle and father figure.

If you're aware of the history behind Cranium Command's development, then you'll know that Buzzy was once originally named Sparky for a very brief time as seen in a storyboard, so I thought it would be nice if that was his father's name. As for Galen, though not a direct reference to anything in the Colossal Pictures version, there are certain elements, like his color scheme being mostly blue like how General Knowledge's design looked in that version.

Not the first time I’ve drawn the command center, but hey, doesn’t hurt to draw it again. Not much has changed in my interpretation. I just updated my approach to rendering and of course, I updated Buzzy and Hypothalamus’s designs.

I have once again redesigned Hypothalamus. This time, I went with an 80’s toy robot look with his head. I just wanted to streamline his design more, as it’s rather difficult to draw him.

I don’t draw my alien OCs enough, so here’s a scene with Pearl and Tyke. The dynamic between them is kinda like that of a big sister and her little brother. Pearl has a lot more life experience and confidence than Tyke, so she tends make sure he’s safe, especially in situations where he makes bad decisions, like often does when crossing a road.

Here’s a sequel to a very old piece. I might remake the original at some point for consistency reason. In my AU, the Cranium Command is surrounded by a lot of natural areas that the brain pilots can visit due their free time, including the field in this piece, which gets absolutely coated in flowers during late spring. Buzzy certainly loves them, though Cortex’s nose disagrees sometimes.

Here’s a bit of environment design work for one of my story ideas “A Whale of A Tale”. I wanna draw Seymour and his pseudorca pals, Koharu and Keto, more often, and to do so, it would be best to actually design the tank system where they live before making more paintings. This is just one of the pools btw. The rest will be designed later. Also, these aren’t meant to be entirely realistic. I am not an expert in enclosure design, especially for cetaceans.

Nothing much, just wanted to say that I’m happy that at least I can type animatronic on the search bar here and I’ll get real world animatronic stuff for the most part. It sucks that it remains such a niche thing when it’s a legitimate art form that combines so many different mediums at once.
