A Rainy Day
The rain fell heavily against the large windows as lightning danced across the horizon.
A pair of brown eyes stared out the window, watching the stormy seas crash against the pillars of the buildings. A reflection of the man’s internal conflict lingered as he turned to face the two young children who sat playing with worn toys. He let out a sigh as he watched the two play, reenacting the last bounty that the three had gone on earlier that month. Then, brushing off his thoughts, he joined them on the floor, picking up one of the toy men before his son took it from his hand.
“Buir, he’s dead,” The boy said, placing it back where his father had picked it up from before returning to the young girl that sat cross-legged across from him, watching the two. “We killed him from the rooftop, here.” He pointed to a small container, one used for storage.
With a soft laugh, the man nodded, remembering that his son had shot and killed his first bounty that month. “I didn’t forget,” The man said with a smile before his attention shifted to the young girl. “Ad'ika, you did a fantastic job as well. Carud would be a proud buir.”
The girl simply nodded, a habit of hers since joining their small family a full Coruscant year before. It was something that made him worry, though he had thought of it as a part of her grief, the way she chose to handle the death of her father. Then, with a soft smile, his attention returned to the small show that had a mixture of fantasy and reality. It was something that he would take note of for a later date, but for now, the three sat in bliss.
