@utilitarianarchitecture 65 of these structures was made & used to support the building of the 9000m dam (Oosterscheldekering) . For every pillar they used 7000 m³ of concrete. The pillars were between 30 & 38 meters high. The Oosterscheldekering, between the islands Schouwen-Duiveland and Noord-Beveland, is the largest of the 13 ambitious Delta Works series of dams and storm surge barriers, designed to protect the Netherlands from flooding from the North Sea. #brutgroup photo via #utilitarianarchitecture
