Eddie Munson's Rings

I haven't seen any posts identifying the rings on Eddie's left hand. (That's not to say they're not out there. I just haven't spotted one.) They were accurately identified by u/LittleCooties on Reddit in this post. All of the following information was found there unless otherwise stated.

All three rings are from a company called G & S Jewelry. Among other things, they make rings that were (still are) popular with metalheads and bikers. Their catalogue is available online. The images on their website are low resolution, the higher resolution ones were taken from eBay listings, by searching the item code. (I tried searching for the rings myself but two seemed to be sold out.)

The G & S Shop doesn't sell their whole catalogue at once. The items that are listed in the shop are listed under names, not just the catalogue codes

Index Finger

A cross surrounded on all sides by four small skulls

Crosshairs Cross (BR113) - [Shop Link]

The easiest to find cheap replicas of, since it's also been featured in Sons of Anarchy.

Middle Finger

A hog's head with angel wings forming the band

(BR94)

A reference to Harley Davidson; their bikes are known as hogs and their logo is often represented with wings.

Ring Finger

A skull with fangs

He seems to be wearing two of these (or similar designs) in the detail shot of his belt buckle featured in this GQ video.

Right Hand

We still haven't identified the ring on his right hand, but the gemstone in it has been! It's snowflake obsidian.

I always see a lot of people in fanfics, not really knowing what day of the week the Hellfire club meetings are held. After some research I came across a calendar of the school year 1985-1986 and in the US, spring break that year started the 31st of March. So the Hellfire club meetings are on Fridays. This is because spring break started on Monday 31st of March, and the last day of school was the 28th, since there is a weekend in the middle. If you knew oh well, and if you didn’t: hope this helps!

The Vecna finale session we see in episode 1 of season 4 absolutely took place on a Friday. Only it was a week earlier, the 21st of March. We know this because the next day, when El's attack on Angela is caught on tape, the camcorder timestamp reads March 22, 1986 (Will's birthday, if s2 Mike is to be believed).

It's also worth noting that the (non-canonical) novel Lucas on the Line includes some insight into the D&D sessions/club meetings. The meets take place in the middle of the school day, seemingly during a lunch period. There are other seniors and sophomores in the club besides Corroded Coffin and The Party. The club is split into different groups, but it's not clear if they play separately or they're just different parties in a larger story Eddie is leading.

So I would say that the sessions might be held at different times, but the novel isn't canon. All of the Lucas on the Line info should be taken with a grain of salt. It's non-canonical, and it's fairly evident throughout the novel that it was written before the series was complete/released. Still, it might be helpful for flavor text.

Yeah, as far as I know American high schools usually hold club meetings after classes on a specific day. But there are exceptions to the rule, during free periods or study hall etc. My interpretation of it was that the Friday evening meetings were the "official" campaign sessions while the random middle of the day sessions might be side quests or filler. Just giving members something fun to do throughout the day.

But again, it's not really canon anyway. Any info from the novels or comics is basically that author's headcanons, which they've drawn from access to behind the scenes materials. They definitely make things up to fill in the blanks when not provided with specific information. The books probably have to go through the Duffers before publishing, but the show writers don't use any of that info to inform their scripts afaik.

@sweetmariihs2 I think this is the club pic you're referring to?

I read somewhere that it's probably the club taking a picture for a previous year's (1984/85, etc) yearbook, since none of the main kids are in it. Idk if that's been confirmed anywhere. the only yearbook photo we ever see in the show is the 1986 one.

Ok so this sent me down a rabbit hole to identify other magazines I’ve seen in bts videos of the trailer.

Couldn’t figure out the exact year but the only source I had suggested it was from the 1970s.

Considering the dates on the magazines, I’m thinking they are Wayne’s. But considering one was in Eddie’s room, I’m gonna hc that it’s a shared interest and Wayne has taught Eddie everything he knows about cars…Mechanic!Eddie is real!!!

Assuming what’s in his lunch box is his own, I’m pretty confident in saying he smokes Camels and uses Zig-zag rolling papers

oh interesting. this might mean he's not actually brand picky, since we previously discovered that the ones in the bedroom and on the boat are probably marlboro. it was mentioned somewhere that he smokes camels, but i didn't realize that was in reference to this scene, rather than the boat or trailer.

I was rewatching the tour of Eddie's room and I noticed a few more things

First was the bottle of robitussin next to his bed. Boy was either sick or using it for other purposes.

Then while I was looking for his loaf of bread. Now I'm thinking it's just a box of cereal he left on the floor. I noticed one of his guitars leaning against his chair. Also seems like he was just recently playing it too.
