â âDo you know? I know everythingâŠIf you talk to me so only I can hear,â she murmured, just loud enough for the other to hear, âI remember how I used to be lonely, how I hated to be alone.â
Eddy set down a warm cup of cappuccino in front of Natashia, along with a slice of fresh carrot cake before he too sat down in front if her. The cafe was pretty empty at this time of day, quiet and peaceful, with some customers going in to get a cup of coffee to go and then back out every once in a while.
Eddy had a soft and gentle smile on his lips, friendly and warm as he looked over at Shia. âBut youâre not alone anymore, Shia. Youâve got so many people around you, who care for you. Iâm just one of those people. Are you still lonely?â
jitters.

Mark nods in response. He chooses not to reveal further as to why heâs being chasedâat least, not now, when he knows nothing about the other yet. Well, the other looks kind and harmless, but itâs better to be safe than sorry. Idols need to be extra careful with the people they run into everyday. Who knows what this stranger has up in his sleeve? âHey, Iâm heading to work right now. Itâs the little bar right up there.â Mark follows where the man is pointing at and listens as the man continues to briefly orient him about his workplace. The idea of being in a bar (and a little bit of booze) sounds inviting to him, which is why he finds himself agreeing too soon and walking up to where the said bar is. After all, itâs been a while since he got tipsy. This is a much needed break to loosen up his tensed nerves and he is not going to let it pass. Only a few , he convinces himself. Despite the chaos brought by that day, Mark finds himself chuckling when his acquaintance brought up being âunderagedâ. âItâs flattering that you had slightly doubted that I am of legal age. Donât worry, I wonât get you in trouble if I down a drink or two.â
Being so close, before they even finished talking they had arrived to their destination. A door with a wooden texture and a small hall greets them, along with a place where customers as well as the workers can leave their jackets or other belongings they donât need. A few steps further an open place with a podium where the instruments are peacefully sitting, waiting to be played, tables with barely a handful of customers, a bar with only one bartender and a couple of people at the bar; all of which greet Eddy cheerfully and whom he greets back with the same enthusiasm on his face and in his voice. Mostly wooden, in neutral earthy colors, a soft warm light glowing from the chandelier above as well as from the lamps on the walls. Itâs a place where the bustling of Seoul and all the noise pollution cannot reach it.Â
He leads his acquaintance to the bar, but closer to the podium, where he could have a full view of not only the performances which were about to take place there, but also of the entire pub, as well as good acoustics, not too disturbing and not too loud. After all, he had to give his acquaintance the best treatment. âCan you handle the taste of whiskey? The first drink is on me, afterwards you can drink whatever you want.â
Not long after he spoke, a few of the guys which were sitting at the bar went to the awaiting instruments, testing their sound by playing a couple of jazz songs.

"can you stop singing so loud?" from Sungjoon
Having his convenient store right in middle of a residential area had its perks but having to deal with noisy kids, young people, older people cursing at young people and now this boy next door singing on top of his lungs were not one of them. Mostly, Sungjoon just brushed it off since he did enjoy it but today his head throbbed with excruciating headache and he couldnât take it anymore. âWell my store is right next door, so I hear everything"He tried to say in a polite tone
âOh, I apologize if itâs bothering your business.â His apology was as sincere as could be. He knew that it would be bothersome or troublesome for the people around him if they had to constantly hear him practice, especially since heâd stop middle of the song if there was a part which didnât sound quite right to him. So that was even worse since he could repeat the same part even 10 times before moving forward, like a broken record. So he was aware that it might not be pleasant, especially if there was a business around. âIâll wrap it up for today and try to keep it down from now on, sir.â But he knew he couldnât avoid it every time, he had to practice too or warm his voice.
"can you stop singing so loud?" from Sungjoon
Itâs true that Eddy had been practicing once again and thatâs pretty troublesome when you live in an apartment building and have neighbours. But he always tries to practice during normal working hours when people are either at work -or if itâs students, at university-. So it came rather as a shock when someone knocked on his door all of a sudden at around 3pm. Who the hell is even at home during those hours?
âAh, Iâm sorry. I thought I wouldnât be bothering anyone at this hour. I shall keep it down.â he replied with a polite bow of his head. He thought he knew most of his neighbours, but this was one face he hadnât really seen before
jitters.
Dead End reads the vandal on the wall. Mark pants, trying to catch his breath and rest his tired legs for a bit. He tries to find any specific landmark that will help him identify where he is, so he can Google for directions on his phone. Thatâs how he gets by if heâs traveling alone in Seoul. Except his phoneâs battery isnât working. âGuess Iâll just retrace my steps.â He helplessly sighs as he chucks his phone back in his pocket. He then starts to navigate on his own and puts his full trust in his gut feeling to lead him to some place familiar. Twenty-five or so minutes of aimless walking, he glances up at the street sign, only to see the same sign for the third time. And thatâs when he realizes heâs fucked. âUgh, great!â He groans out in frustration. Why are the odds not in his favor that day? However, fate decides to play with him some more. Mark hears something click, something similar to the shutter sound of a camera. He confirms his suspicion when he turns around and sees a phone cameraâs flash. Fuck. How did he end up being in the same place with a sasaeng? âHey, wait! Mark!â with the adrenaline kicking in, he breaks out into another marathon, trying to get away from the sasaeng as fast as he can. He gets a few hisses and glares from other people as he bumps into them along the way. Manners be damned. He needs to run away. Focused on getting away, he sees the man walking toward the same direction a little too late. He crashes into him a little too hard that they almost got knocked off their feet. âOh shit, man! Iâm sorry!â he hastily apologizes. His distress must be evident on his face because instead of getting angry, the stranger just asks if he is alright. âNoâYes and no?â Mark rambles. âI mean, Yes, I am fine. I am not hurt. But I was lost and I also got chased earlier so, that part is not okay.â He quickly surveys his surroundings to check the sasaeng fan and he sighs in relief when he sees that he lost her. âCan we just..go somewhere? I donât care if you pick the place. I just need to get my shit together.â
âChased?â Itâs an honest and confused reaction which got Eddy to look around. Left, right and then behind him to see if thereâs any sign of the person chasing the young man. Cause for Godâs sake, how many times do you bump into someone randomly and they say theyâre being chased? Thatâs not exactly common. But leaving him here, when the young man sounded so distressed and when there was a possibility of the chaser finding him again, was not an option.
âHey, Iâm heading to work right now. Itâs the little bar right up there.â He says as he point the direction up the small side street and to the sign dangling just above the door with each blow of the wind. âItâs a small place, but itâs cozy and no one will bother you at all. Itâs always peaceful and tranquil so Iâm sure that youâll find it able to calm down. Not only from the scary thought of being chased, but also bring a bit of peace and calmness to your mind.â The sound of a bar might sound a little iffy for someone who wants calmness, sure. When you first think of a bar you think of loud people and drinking mostly. But that wasnât the case here. âIf youâre underage you can order coffee or hot chocolate or you can just not order anything and stay to enjoy the music. If you can drink I warmly recommend one glass of whiskey, no more than that. Or a glass of wine. Youâll see it does wonders.âÂ
He made a couple of steps in the direction of the place, looking at the young male again with a warm smile on his lips. âHow about it? Would you like to tag along?â

jitters.
Mark at the date on his lockscreen. 48 hours until the comeback. Suddenly, the grueling months of preparations dawn on him. He remembers how theyâd squeeze in composing and recording songs during their jam-packed schedules. The countless, sleepless nights spent in the practice room, alternating rehearsals for the new choreography and polishing their old ones. Looking back at it now, Mark feels some sense of pride in himself and in his members. It looked almost impossible to do it all with the members getting injured and having other individual commitments, but they made it out alive. However, thereâs also this nagging thought at the back of his head. Apart from the excitement of putting out the fruit of their labor, he feels an immense amount of pressure to exceed the success they got from the previous comeback. Will they like the songs I made? Will we get noticed despite all the other groups coming back this month? Mark is quickly pulled out from his reverie when he gets called for their LIVE V App session. He immediately joins the members and sits through the live broadcast, occasionally trying to smile and talk. Mark is thankful because heâs known for being a âman of few wordsâ, making it easy for him to mask all the worries heâs carrying. âAnd itâs a wrap!â the manager calls out. As if on cue, Mark then rises from his seat, excusing himself from his members and giving a quick thanks to all the staff before he dashes out of the set. He knows he might get reprimanded for this later but the need for a small break is strong. So, he continues to run, making turns without thinking, just letting his feet take him to a place where he can find peace amidst the chaos that is his head.
It wasnât rare that when other people headed home from work, Eddy would head from home to work. The nights when he sang were the days when he didnât head to the cafe. Tonight he was singing, as per usual, at the small jazz like pub which was situated in the middle of Seoul, yet seemed so different from Seoul that you think you had traveled through space and distance and ended up somewhere else. Maybe thatâs why he liked that pace, it was always calm and serene.Â
The air was clearly showing signs of getting colder, autumn was approaching with large steps. He didnât mind. After all it was the natural cycle of things. With hands in the pockets of his trench coat he was strolling along the streets to the place which in just an hour would open its doors for the people, changing the atmosphere completely.Â
No matter how much attention he paid to where he was walking he couldnât avoid the crash and thud just as he had turned around the corner to go up the street which lead him to where his business was. Needless to say that it took him more than a couple of seconds to realize what was going on. He hadnât fallen off his feet, but he had stumbled back a few steps before his eyes landed on the boy in front of him, the source of this bumping. âAre you okay?â His question wasnât only meant physically, the boy didnât seem that weak, but more after sensing his distress and agitation.Â
the cutest thing in the world
A late Thursday night. Maybe youâre looking for a peaceful place after a long day of work? Maybe you just want to escape the hustling and bustling of the busy city. Maybe clubs donât sound appealing right now and neither do the small family restaurants. Maybe youâre alone and donât feel like going home as thereâs no one there to wait for you. Or maybe you share an apartment with someone but still it doesnât sound appealing to go back. Or on the contrary, maybe youâre with someone trying to decide what to do, where to go.Â
On a side street, not too far from the main ones, but far enough in order to make it seem like youâve ended up in a different, smaller city, surrounded by small buildings, the sky scrapers in the distance, a place called âThe Next Storyâ draws you in with a peaceful scent and a heartwarming voice singing in honey tunes âShall we slow dance?â
Will you accept the invitation of letting your soul be guided into the dance while you enjoy a glass of whiskey?
