hi folks!! so sorry for the radio silence this year, things have been really hectic for me and i was unable to put together any kind of edelclaude week stuff sooner. however, since some folks asked about it and kindly helped with prompts ( huge shout out to mo for offering a fantastic list of prompts to choose from ) i'm happy to announce a shorter edelclaude weekend for this year! Feel free to continue to use the edelclaude week tags for simplicity, and i hope that some of y'all will try to make a little something!

In the early morning, despite Edelgard's desire to do nothing but lounge around, Claude receives a letter. He stiffens, almost imperceptibly, and then laughs, that falsely casual laugh that she had so hated when they’d first met. She’d seen it as dangerous, arrogant, before she’d come to know him. Now she sees it for what it is, his coping mechanism for keeping himself together. She knows because she has her own coping mechanism, how her fists tighten, her countenance gets colder, her nails dig into her palms. He’s come to recognize that mood in her too. If she’d told her younger self that she’d understand Claude this intimately, she thinks that young girl would have never believed her.

For @edelclaudeweek! Day 6: Future/Sunrise.

Kind of a sequel to my other longfic, if we had met later, a few years after Three Hopes's war ends! It was supposed to be much longer but time got ahead of me and I never quite got to finish, alas.

The visit, and their rendezvous, should be a routine thing – but the stakes are raised when an unknown assailant joins the party.

The Annual Poetry Recitation Competition of Garreg Mach is underway, and Edelgard is determined to neither lose nor show off any of her more...heretical inclinations while competing. Too bad Claude seems a little too interested in transgressions.

I got way too into poetry and thinking about this competition structure as I wrote it, and it ballooned in size. This is probably my longest entry for edelclaude week. I hope you enjoy it, regardless!

The Unification Treaty's Anniversary just happens to fall in the same year as the Millennium Festival. Although Edelgard is opposed to it, festivities commence at Garreg Mach, and the Millennium Ball takes place just as it would have before everything changed. But Claude has something up his sleeve, and Edelgard is determined to figure out what. For @edelclaudeweek! Day 2: Dance.

I usually end up writing post!three hopes edelclaude in the scarlet blaze timeline, but I admit, it was a lot of fun to imagine them within a golden wildfire timeline! Usually, putting Claude in bad situations where he has to flip things around to gain the upper hand is a lot of fun, but Edelgard having a bad time too is always compelling.
