- popular users would host rabb.its for their mutuals and play sonic inflation adventure or something

- everyone was fire emblem kin, constantly switching around their kins, tagging eachother in art and making posts invalidating doubles

- you either followed all the fire emblem kinnies, or you followed people who associated heavily with them. no in between.

- this was around the time skype was still popular, so everyone used that. people made skype gcs for their mutuals

- it was ABSOLUTELY the very peak of kindrama. asking for raceproof because of kin, asking about trauma because of kin, calling eachother fakes and adding someone to your byf because they kinned the same character as you

- very specific themes and aes tags, constantly changing both of those things based on which new kinnies you got

- every week you’d hear about the start of people dating and then realize they broke up due to them kindating someone else within 4 seconds

- “is it promo hour?” “can i start promo hour?” and then spending the rest of your night reblogging promos and tagging them with things, being terrified to reblog the promo of a double of your favorite mutual in fear of being blocked by them and called out for promoting identity theft

- mysmes kinnies and people who had ccs from it literally everywhere you looked

- all of your mutuals kinned 707 and you had to unfollow like 30 people because they all kinned him at once but your favorite mutual didn’t like doubles

- link directories. absolute fucking paragraphs of links ranging from ‘about’ ‘me/id’ ‘byf’ to ‘the story of how i became traumatized’ and ‘reasons white people can kin people of color NOW WITH SOURCES’

- every day one of your mutuals would get called out. deciding if it was actually serious or if it was because of kin drama is up to you to decide.
