this was probably the best one of the lot besides stilt walkers. margaret had more moments that i appreciated, and lowkey she was kinda relatable lmfao
very sweet rigleen episode though! probably one of the first instances of rigby doing something for eileen (chronologically) and girl was NOT afraid to express her crush LMAOO
the whole āsay whatā joke also felt like something from the original show, it was great
but the highlight of the episode was obviously the cops thinking that the corpse flower was a dead body. the moment they pulled up and smelt the boot i KNEW they were gonna think that rigby had murdered someone LOL. again itās something i canāt believe they got away with, like openly talking about rigby being a murderer and the smell of a dead body or whatever. the censors HAVE to be more lenient cause oh my god
anyway yeah i really enjoyed this one
BEGINSON
me and my friend were SO excited about this one, but honestlyā¦? it was a little bit of a let down? i dunno, i wanted to see more of hair to the throne themselves, but i think the main issue i had was that it kinda fucked with the continuity. now obviously continuity isnāt a priority for regular show but it just didnāt really make sense that thatās what happened imo. like why did the park look so desolate lol
i canāt remember the details of what the original show established, but i think it was something along the lines of benson gets kicked out of hair to the throne, ends up at the park cause he has nothing else, but finds it a lame job (implying heās not manager) so he went to the gameshow to try win enough money to quit. then he went back cause he lost but eventually grew accustomed to it. dunno i might be missing some points but this episode did kind of retcon all of the stuff with the gameshow which sucks cause i loved the gameshow lore lol
i mean it is just benson telling a story so he might be capping in some parts, or just is looking back with rose tinted glasses on how he felt
also me and my friend were PRAYING for bro to remove the headband like benson i hate to break it to you but that aināt a cool hairstyle šš
however i will give credit where credit is due:
one thing i did love was how it touched on bensonās perfectionism. like obviously heāll have always had it and the fact it messed with his band life is actually a really interesting concept. like it did sort of show the way he was growing out of the care-free life he wanted to live just because deep down he couldnāt actually live that way. pretty sure benson be gone showed that off to us so it was nice to see it in his past
also him killing that guy was CRAZY cause my friend literally yelled āITS THINK POSITIVE!ā when he started levitating. so again, a nice way to show that bensonās always been that way
and the moments that we did have with hair to the throne themselves were pretty good. and benson with the chicken wings. of course
overall, i was disappointed, but it wasnāt that bad
GOOD MITCH SPIKING
so yeahā¦ it was volleyball. honestly i like to see the sporty side of muscle man, bro has mobility
questioning of purpose was a nice addition to his character, and the idea that back then he never really did anything for himself. the metaphor of him sinking under the sand cause he couldnāt handle the pressure was actually pretty cool, i liked that a lot
starla was lowkey justified in getting fed-up but itās cool that she wanted muscle man to do it for himself rather than for her.
also dude i was bashing the continuity earlier but the fact her boyfriend was actually called steve and it added up was so funny, i loved that
also WOW coffee bean jumpscare i did not want to see that guy again
the fucking āstop translating and help meā joke was hilarious though
STILT WALKERS
this lowkey felt like a classic episode, it was really funny, but it is interesting that they seemed to have jumped straight to season 5. iām guessing season 5? or maybe season 6. cause CJ was there. but anyway, it was nice to see her tho, hope she makes a reappearance
but yeah this episode was good. the fucking shot where mordecai kicked like 3 guys in the balls and it showed nuts being cracked open absolutely SENT ME thatās been the funniest balls joke yet (besides the benson balls in mouth one, obviously)
also man all of the stuff between rigby and his father that was on the tape. i knew that shit was bad when all the soda cans were there. also very sweet that everyone decided to help him once they realised how fucked up rigby actually was cause of that š
what i really liked though was the way mordecai acted. like you could tell it was late season from the way he was being rude towards rigby but he actually ended up literally fighting for him and i thought that was a really nice aspect to his later season self. like yeah he was focused on his awful ass love life so he was kind of being a jerk to his friend, but when he saw that tape and realised what it all meant to rigby he didnāt waste a second to help him. golly thatās overanalysing if iāve ever seen it
but yeah! this batch was kinda hit and miss but iām still hella excited for the upcoming eps. hopefully the cool boss episode will make up for my slight disappointment lol

i really donāt have much to say about the first episode, but it seems like an introduction to the idea of the series being about lost tapes. obviously it implies that one of them are broken, maybe to do with mordecai and rigby or maybe not.
maybe itās something to do with pops in heaven that we saw at the end where he takes the tape out of the recorder. maybe we see him fixing the older tapes to replay and reminisce about other memories (aka the new episodes).

this is the one we got the clip from, and the only context we had was that mordecai and rigby needed to take the trash out and then go to the luau. i had to google what one was, but it seems to be a traditional hawaiian celebration, which is honestly unexpected to see but iād like to see where it goes. the fact skips is holding it might also reveal some connection he has to hawaii, maybe not personally, but heās clearly interested in their culture, which is cool to see.
iām really not sure if that live action clip happens, i doubt it though lmfao. it doesnāt make sense in the context given as mordecai and rigby are actually doing their work. if it does then, well, iām sure some kids are gonna get scared by that.
