Almost Family | Permanent AF 1.12 | Expectant AF 1.13 | 2 Hour Finale

Just some random thoughts and speculation before the finale tomorrow.

The Expectant AF title for episode 1.13 is nerve-wracking! Expectant could mean pregnant or eager anticipation.

Knowing that Edie slept with Tim could obviously lead to a pregnancy. It’s definitely not my ideal route for Amanda and Edie’s story, but I could deal with it as long as Edie is honest with Amanda about when it happened. My hope is that, if anything, it will just be a false alarm and that Edie is being careful (based on her drink choice in promo photos) until she knows for sure. And if there is a possibility of pregnancy for Edie then there must be a significant time jump from episode 1.11 if she suspects that she is, but if Edie isn’t pregnant then maybe there isn’t a time jump. I guess we will know by tomorrow!

Fertility & children are some of the main themes in the show, so there are plenty of other characters that this Expectant title could apply to.

Julia very much wants to have children and has been talking about it a lot ever since she started dating Donovan. Maybe Donovan will change his mind about wanting to have more children with her in the future. There is also the half-brother, Nate, who has a surrogate and is starting a family with his husband. The half-sister, Rifka, makes it clear that she thinks there is nothing more important in life than being a mother.

I think Roxy and Isaac’s engagement/marriage will have to do with his green card being in jeopardy. Isaac doesn’t really seem like the type who would go along with such a plan, but maybe he is desperate.

Based on promo photos & video, I wonder if Leon will do something crazy like representing himself during the trial. One of the main issues concerning his story is that they couldn’t find any reliable character witnesses for him and at one point he even suggested taking the stand himself. His lawyers advised against it, but I think Leon is arrogant enough to find a way to do it anyway.

It’ll be interesting to see where all of this goes!
