Hello there. My name is Edmund Pevensie and I am the King of Narnia. Well Peter's the High King, but only cause he's older. My sisters, Lucy and Susan, are Queens of Narnia as well and Narnia will forever remember us as the Kings and Queens of Old. But in the real world? Everyone thinks we're just kids. Well except for Peter and Susan. They get to go to London and visit Mum while me and Lucy have to stay with relatives. That's why i miss Narnia so much. Can you imagine? Being Kings and Queens one minute and 'just children' the next? It's really unfair. Maybe we'll return to Narnia someday. I hope that's the case. I don't think I can take much more of our cousin Eustace.
Ariel giggled. "Siblings?" She asked. "How many do you have? I have six!"
"I have three," he replied. "Peter Susan and Lucy." He took a seat in the sand, figuring this conversation would go on long enough to justify him making himself more comfortable. "You have six siblings? That's a lot. I don't know what I'd do with six siblings."
"I'm Ariel," she said. "I like that name. Edmund. It's interesting." She smiled at him. "Picnic at the beach?" She asked. "All alone? Or do you have company?" She asked curiously.
"Hmm? Oh!" Edmund realized he'd carried his picnic basket down the beach with him. He chuckled, slightly embarrassed, setting it down in the sand. "I told my siblings I was coming down here but... they didn't seem interested. So I guess I'm alone. I don't really mind much though," he assured her.
Ariel was floating around in the water when she came across a boy. She slid up onto a rock and held out her hand, catching his attention with the tail and the bright red hair. "Hello!" She said.
Edmund had taken a trip to the beach, for it was a rather hot day and he fancied a swim. He'd brought a small picnic basket with him and was planning on eating out on the sand after a nice swim. He began taking of his shoes, which were now filled with sand, when he heard someone call out to him in greeting. Edmund looked up and spotted a mermaid just beyond he shoreline. He smiled, waving at her and heading over to wear she lie resting on a rock. Seeing her made him think of Narnia once again and he wished he could return there. His eyes brightened when he realized the mermaid may be from Narnia and he quickened his pace, eager to ask her. "Hello there," he said when he reached her. "I'm Edmund, and you are?"
