The part about Vasily that really gets me is how this grown ass battle-hardened killer in his late 20s is really out here acting like a teenage boy experiencing his first love. This man has a truly insane amount of gap moe, and most of it lies in underutilized potential. Which might be part of the reason he's such a disproportionately popular character.

Has someone ever written a golden kamuy au where the 7th division is just like, a Walmart or department store franchise? Instead of being a freak about guns, Tsurumi’s going nuts with surveillance and loss prevention tech. The 24 convicts are just his most wanted shoplifters, and Wilk runs a locally beloved family-owned store across the street and stole Tsurumi’s wife. (Tsuru missed his custody hearing bc he was busy with work and now he doesn’t even have visitation)

Asirpa and co are just local kids fucking around in the store. Koito’s the kiss ass assistant manager, Usami is security/store greeter, Nikaidou’s going through a worker’s comp case bc he injured himself after Sugimoto smashed a gallon of milk on the floor, Ogata always keeps his department stocked and spotless but misses half his shifts, Yuusaku’s still alive bc it’s funny, and Tsukishima’s the only one keeping this store together.

Tsurumi still does all that shit btw. He just hates corporate that much.
