“Just a few minutes– not too long. I let myself in and brought treats from Professor Juniper for your pokémon, too.” It had been a preemptive apology, really– he wasn’t the least prickly person in the world. Far from it, actually, and she could have at least knocked, but she hadn’t. She also hadn’t called to warn him. So, yeah– the apology was necessary.
“Anyway! You must have been working yourself super super hard if you’re sleeping like that. Are you sure I should stay?”
“They’re around here somewhere, I’m sure Buall caught you on the way in, she tends to have a nose for those things.” Of course he was referring to the hulking horned normal type that often huffed after visitors outside his apartment. His voice was more slurred than he might have liked, shoving back sleep with a clear of his throat. Honestly, by now he was used to it.
“I was just shutting my eyes for a second, I had a lot to get done last night so–” Whatever, no real need to make excuses. “I wouldn’t have invited you over if I was too tired.”
