With the forthcoming elections, students in Karnataka will now need Aadhaar card to appear for NEET 2017. As the stir has been acknowledged by colleges in the city, some colleges have also affirmed a holiday for students to apply for Aadhaar Cards if they do not have it.

The NEET is mandatory to take admissions to any MBBS/BDS courses in India in medical or dental colleges which have the consent of the Medical Council of India (MCI) or Dental Council of India (DCI).

An agreement with French multinational software company Dassault Systemes has been signed by the Government of Karnataka. The agreement conveys that both short-term and long-term courses in aerospace and defence sectors using 3D design and 3D digital mock-up software programmes will be taught to students as well s engineers.

MBA Entrance Exams by non-government bodies will not be valid

The order is supported by the High Court (HC).

The Admission Supervisory Committee (ASC) has instructed that the Master of Business Administration (MBA) entrance exams conducted by the non-governmental bodies will not be valid from now on. The order is supported by the High Court (HC).

The order was issued by ASC on Tuesday, June 7, 2016. According to the order, no entrance examination conducted by non-governmental agencies will be accepted for MBA admissions excluding Kerala Management Admission Test (KMAT) conducted by the Kerala Universities under the regulation of ASC, Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). As per the order, the score of Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA) shall not be acknowledged after May 2016.

Although the companies are offering placements to every student but the salary offered them are not meeting their expectations. The demand for B-School graduates is high and the salaries they get show the commercial lay-offs in the market.  

While IIM-Lucknow has recently witnessed 100% placement for a batch of 435 students but it did not disclose about the salary to be offered to the students. According to IIM-Rohtak, the salaries this year have grown by 10.1% as against 12% last year.

The companies have stopped hiring students in bulk reducing it by15-20%. This year the placements have gone down by 30-40%. Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore’s one year full time Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) has been ranked among top 50 in the Financial Times Global MBA Ranking 2017.

The University administration has hiked the fee for the entrance examinations by 27% from the upcoming academic session.

Students, those who are seeking admissions in various programs at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will now have to shell out more money. The University administration has hiked the fee for the entrance examinations by 27% from the upcoming academic session.

The decision was taken in a recent meeting of Academic Council followed by executive council at the university. However, there is no change in the fee structure of SC/ST, physically disabled and Below Poverty Line (BPL) candidates.
