How to beat Procrastination while preparing for Bank Exams?
There are times when people have lot of things to get done, but instead they choose to sit back and do absolutely nothing. If this is also a case with you, don’t feel guilty it’s something we all do. Procrastination is a common problem, especially among students who keep delaying things until it’s really late to get things done.
And procrastinating while preparing for such competitive PSU Bank Exams is really not a good idea, but sometimes we just can’t help ourselves or can’t find enough motivation to keep going with our studies.
Here are some ways to overcome procrastination:
1. Break it Up: Sometimes the tasks seem too overwhelming, that we don’t even give it a try and this can be considered the major reason for procrastination. The best way to overcome this problem is to break the task into smaller ones and then complete them one by one.

If you’ll have a look at the syllabus all at once, you’ll never be able to study it. Instead take small sections of the subject and study them one by one by setting some deadlines. In this way you’re actually getting things done.
2. Be About Actions, Not Distractions: Motivation is hard to find, but distraction comes quite easy. It’s not anything rare that you sit down to study and after few minutes you found yourself texting or checking your social networking accounts a number of times etc. Or if your desk is in front of a window, after a moment your eyes will start rambling.
It’s really necessary to hold on to that motivation until you’re done with your preparation, people often deactivate their social networking accounts and that’s quite radical. But simple things like keeping your phone away while studying, or studying in a peaceful environment can also be helpful. It’s up to you, that what things you find disturbing and how you eliminate them.
3. It’s Time to Change: Sometimes your surroundings just don’t contribute to your productivity, making you even more drowsy and dull. If this is also a case with you, it’s time to change!
Consider changing your study table or the way it feels, like clean it up, stick some inspirational quotes in front of it or anything that will keep you going. Sometimes the color of your room can also make you lazy, always get your room painted with vibrant colors. Have proper lighting in your room, dim lights look good only in fancy restaurants, in your room it’ll only make you sleep.
4. A Friend in Need: Let other people know of your goals and targets, and they will help you to stay focused on you studies. Parents are the best option to seek help from, because by asking your progress every now and then they’ll leave you answerable and this will also make you study.
5. Don’t complicate the simple: Do it or don’t, but avoid complicating things. There are things to be done, but everything has a time. It’s completely ok if you’re not perfect, no one is and a little procrastination causes no harm.
Doing things when you’re not completely into it, will take even longer to compete the task. Take time to find your motivation and then do it without having any second thoughts. It’s better not to study at all rather than studying while being mentally absent, study with a fresh mind focused only on what you’re studying.
6. Make a Move: Above all, the very first thing you need to do is take an action. The only thing that’s going to make things happen is actually doing them! So get up and it’s only you who can make things happen for yourself.
