Pretty quiet out here. Not nearly as humid, almost cool. Perfect. Might do laundry today

Whew. That was a day. I spent probably 8 hours at mom’s with my sisters, nephew, brother in law, going though mom’s stuff….which also means my grandmother’s stuff, and my great grandmother’s stuff, to an extent. There were so many multiples of things. Three electric skillets. Four woks. Four full sets of silverware. Full. Sets. So so so many things that just look nice but were never intended for use. Like the fine china and the cabinet it’s displayed in, that’s been packed and moved across the world and twice the length of the country…..etc. we reminisced. We remembered stories. We filled my nephew in on some family history and Schrödinger’s Cat. He almost broke so many things just doing 11 year old shit. Lotta stuff going to thrift stores. Lotta stuff going to the animal shelter. Lotta stuff to the dump. I did not cry, but I almost did, for what that’s worth.
But now I am home. Stoned. Had an everything shower to wash over a hundred years of grime off me. Probably gonna watch some tv because I haven’t been able to concentrate on a book lately.
“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, and - in spite of True Romance magazines - we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely - at least, not all the time - but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don’t see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”
Hunter S. Thompson (July 18, 1937 - February 20, 2005)
When I came out here everything was wet, as if it had rained pretty hard last night. It had not. Just the dew and humidity. Today I’m driving out to help my sisters go through mom’s stuff. I’m bringing around 20 boxes, and I’m sure it won’t be near enough. But for now, nice

Finally getting around to the Sopranos
Just walked over to the credit union to make my truck payment. It’s a little over a block away and saves me the $5 processing fee to do it in person every month. So. No matter the weather, there I go. Today, like every day everywhere this summer, it’s stupid out there.
I passed a lady on the phone and I heard her say, “I’m wearing a crop top and a skirt And. It. Is still so damn HOT!”
Lady, I wish I could wear that. It’s gotta be cooler than jeans. And I still count myself lucky I don’t have to wear a suit to work

Skipped trivia tonight. I had two friends’ cats I needed to check on, one all the way across town, and…AND…. I was finally hoping to mow my yard. It wasn’t supposed to rain today, it didn’t rain at mine yesterday, and I felt like i could get it done this evening. No edging. No weeding. But at least the grass isn’t knee high and thick anymore. Whew 😅

However rough I look, I feel worse. But here I am, back to work. I got a lot of stuff done at my house the last couple days but there’s still a lot to do at mom’s….and I can’t put it off any longer. The hard bit is done. At least there are
