Saving Teen Lives
Local authorities have been on a quest to help reduce accidents involving teen drivers. Their principle focus recently has been distracted driving, and they have taken extra steps to ensure that our teens get the knowledge they need to avoid these accidents. Three different distracted driving simulators have visited East North Carolina in as many months, and the North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCHP) have even started their own program to help teach teens.
The “Drive To Live” program was designed by NCHP to help improve teen’s driving education. They hold the program in April—around prom season—and do their best to make sure these kids have all the tools they need to avoid crashes. Teens have the highest accident rate among all age groups in the United States.
