Eika stared for a few seconds. “Oh… Oh! I don’t have any instrument! I must buy one, so I can grant Sierche’s wish of teaching me how to music!” Eika said proudly.

Eika poked Devon once again. “Do you play any instrument, Devon? If you do, then you and Sierche should play together! It would be the best duo ever!”

“There’s a music store in The Reef….you can buy instruments there. I personally don’t play any instruments, I just like listening to music. Be sure you’ve got enough cash for it though, instruments don’t come cheap.”

Sierche decided to pipe up now. “Hey Dev, I thought you had wanted to start a band? What happened to that?”

“Waaaaaait wait wait… Devon, you want to start a band??” Eika was about to burst out of happiness.

“Oh. My. Cod. You should DEFINITELY do that, like, right now! I will be your number one fan! Like, seriously, it isn’t everyday that you learn about a band with an eel! You could be… FAMOUS!” Eika said, fidgeting with her tentacle slightly. She was now even more hyped up than before.

If he didn't love him as much as he did, he would've strangled Sierche right there. He seemed nervous, he gave Eika a pat to calm her down. "Look, uh....that was an old dream of mine, I'm not into that anymore. I just never told Ser, y'see?" That should satisfy her.

“Ooooh? Are you telling me that there are many kinds of guitars?? I just thought you had to grab one and pull the strings to make the music!” Eika’s eyes were sparkling. It was like a whole new world. She suddenly held onto Sierche’s sleeve and slightly dragged him over to where Devon sat.

“Dev Devon!! Friend! Sierche will teach me how to music!! Isn’t that awesome??” Eika said, trying to catch the eel’s attention.

The baristas were awful quick to be quiet when Eika came over, gently tugging Sierche along. He didn’t honestly mind it, Eika was just full of energy, and that was okay! Devon himself sat up a bit from his slump on the table, careful enough to not knock over his drink.

“Yeah? You got an instrument to play music with? That’s kind of a big requirement for making any sort of music.”

Devon simply sighed, this was a massive mess. What did Sierche think of him now?? Probably nothing good. While Eika was distracted with him, he slithered off to a table and “sat” down, earning some quiet teasing from the baristas.

Meanwhile, Sierche smiled warmly at her. “Oh? Well, maybe someday! I was self taught’ y’know! Is there a specific type of guitar you’re interested in?”

Devon looked at her again, she was really trying hard to cheer him up. He couldn’t just stay coiled up like this forever either, he was kinda making a bigger fool of himself this way. Curling the tip of his tail around the can, he makes his way up out of his coils and to his full height. His face is notably redder than it was before, and his ears pointed downwards. “Thanks for the coffee.”

“You are welcome, Devon!” Eika smiled wide. She was really glad that Devon finally was reacting differently. She gets a bit desperate when she doesn’t understand things.

“By the way, the little bit of music I managed to hear was awesome! Sierche, could you maybe some day teach me how to make music as well?” Eika turned her attention to Sierche. She and Devon would be there next friday to see them perform.

Sierche tilted his head in thought. “Flustered….? I don’t really know why he’d be flustered….as far as I know, he doesn’t actually like anyone. Maybe you’re just embarrassing him?” He leans down, giving the top of his head an affectionate pat. “It’s okay, Devon!”

It can hardly be seen, but in response to this the tips of his ears became a warm red. Upon being poked by Eika, he groaned. “Could you please just let me die in peace…” It was rather muffled through his thick tail, but it should be able to be heard.

Eika was confused. This wasn’t the Devon he met mere minutes ago.

“I know!! Hold on just a second!” Eika suddenly rushed outside. In less than a minute, she was back with a couple cans of warm coffee. She saw the vending machine with these outside. 

“Devon! I have acquired coffee! Have one, alright?” She presented Devon a large black can of coffee. Eika also handed Sierche one as well.

Sierche gladly accepted the coffee, but frowned when Eika offered the can to Devon. “Are you sure that’ll solve this…? I’m not too surewhat coffee could do, but if you think it’ll help, go for it!” After a couple pokes of the can to his tail, Dev’s face peeks out, but only slightly. He looks at the can, and back to Eika.

“Is it iced? I don’t do hot stuff.”

Eika stood there for good 10 seconds, simply staring at Devon. She then rushed outside with no word. This time, it was taking her longer to come back.

After 5 minutes, she was finally back. She was exhausted for running for so long and fast. But she had in her hands, a can of coffee. This time, it was come.

“J-Just… For you, friend…!” She placed the can of iced coffee in his tail, making sure it was well balanced.
