thinking about post-squip jeremy missing his squip. i think most days he'd pretend to be fine without it, friends distracting him from the eerie silence in his head. first few days after the play incident he may even accept the feeling of something missing. it was a rather drastic change, after all - to suddenly lose the second voice who'd accompanied him for the past weeks in his head. it would go away - he'd think.

as the months went by the feelings would only intensify. some days jeremy would despise the squip. he'd absolutely loathe it for all the horrible things it did to him.

..yet then again he'd also hate how much he missed hearing its voice. the squip did more wrong than good, he knew that it was bad for him.

that thought didn't stop him from laying in bed, late at night, thinking of how happy, authentic and free rich appeared to be without the supercomputer in his brain anymore. he'd wish it was him who got better rather than obsess over someone who'd hurt him so badly. why couldn't he just forget about it forever?

he'd hate himself for missing the squip's nagging presence. he'd feel confused and disgusted, yet also so miserable without its comforting embrace. the thoughts would turn borderline obsessive and they'd leave him weeping into his sheets, pathetically calling out its name, begging for it to come back..

but he'd always be met with the unfamiliar, eerie silence.

Broadway Jeremy and Play Squip would go hard I think they would get along. Play Squip is sillay and doesn’t really have an ulterior motive I think it would just empower Broadway Jeremy honestly.

And then Book Jeremy can swap Squips with Two River Jeremy because Two River Squip is the most devious and Book Jeremy is the least, like, afraid to say No to Squips. He would be like. “Hey. Is this guy bothering you. I can deal with it.” /j. Dog training but for Squips lol. And while that’s happening Book Squip would just be entertaining Two River Jeremy for the day

(I guess that means play jeremy would have broadway Squip ?? I don’t know how to feel about this concoction I feel like they wouldn’t necessarily like or dislike one another.)

i think bway jer would enable playsquip's cringefailness but honestly they're kinda cute together??? in a "i am cringe but i am free" sort of way. jer gets someone cool to admire and follow and playsquip gets appreciated for its efforts. arguably he's still get shocked n stuff, and jer being less assertive means he'd be more likely to follow stupid advice BUT at least this squip won't take over the world? i'd also think that playsquip would be nicer to bway jer just cus hes like a cuter, more impressionable version of its own jeremy. rest of the pairings below the cut cus lmaooo this is gonna get long

2. 2R!squip x bookjer

book jer would ABSOLUTELY not take any shit from 2R squip honestly, especially if he already has experience with his own squip. "i'm the human, you listen to ME." etcetc. and 2R squip would haaaate not having any control over him. they'd be funny together tbh. rage baiter x baited. i wanna see them have hate makeouts ("everything about you is terrible." "okay? i already knew that lmaooo") or like "you bought me to improve yourself, jeremy. stop ignoring me!" "stop being an asshole first"

3. book!squip x 2R!jeremy

they'd chill together honestly. 2r jeremy finally gets a break from being degraded by his squip and book!squip gets a host that actually listens half the time. jer would probably point out how outdated its data is and squip might actually reconsider stuff?? maybe??? it might be more out of it's depth if it has to deal with jer's life issues though ("i miss my mom, squip" "-okay that's deeper than i want to go")

and last of all.... 4. bway!squip x play!jeremy

idk. they're like.an anime duo to me. isekai protagonist + the original male lead he accidentally picked up that's far more competent than him. or something. either that or the leads of a 2000s teen movie. bway!squip is like a toned down version of play!jer's squip (aside from the taking over the world part) and play!jer is arguably the chillest out of all the jeremys so. surprisingly compatible? jer might start missing his original squip though... (i still don't have a good grasp on bway squip's character tbh so forgive me) also considering playjer actually has a semblance of rizz i don't think bway would go all World Domination. ironically the good ending

ugh i really need to watch a boot of bway bemc someday cus im not totally confident my characterisations for that version. bway squ1p is especially interesting to me considering it somehow leans closer to the play portrayal due to the lines that were changed

but also lowkey (from the recordings at least) it felt like they were leaning harder into the "dependancy on technology" aspect and how modern tech preys on how vulnerable humans are nowadays (think of the trend of people using ch4tgpt as their therapist. honestly squ1p in general could be a stand-in for ch4tgpt i think idk)

bc of that squ1p feels simultaneously less and more predatory because of the way it's hiding under a "friendly" facade compared to the outright degrading way 2r treats jer. at the same time it feels more distant because it's really just trying to help the best it can, it just doesn't do it the right way because humans are more complicated than just generalisations made from the data it has
