a Complex building by Ee Shawn Via Flickr: The 31-storey People's Park Complex is a mixed-use development located in the heart of Chinatown. The shopping complex was completed in 1970 and was the first of its kind in Southeast Asia. The residential tower was completed three years later with the open space on the roof of the shopping podium designed for communal purposes. The complex was originally finished in raw concrete, keeping with the Brutalist architecture style. Over the years, it has gone through several colourful coats of paint, with the latest in yellow and green.

the people's heroes by Ee Shawn Via Flickr: The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located in the middle of Tiananmen Square, Beijing. Despite his wish to be cremated, Chairman Mao Zedong's body was embalmed and displayed in a glass case within the mausoleum. Construction started shortly after his death and was completed less than a year later on 24 May 1977. People throughout China were involved in the construction and materials from all around the country were used throughout the building.

Wuzhen is a historic water town that has preserved its ancient waterways and architecture over the centuries. It is now commonly considered as one of the most scenic and idyllic of China's ancient water towns.

spring blossoms by Ee Shawn Via Flickr: The Liaoning Broadcast and TV Tower is one of the tallest structures in Shenyang and Northeast China. Built in 1989, the 305.5-metre tall tower houses an observation deck, a rotating restaurant and a bar. Located next to a small park, cherry blossoms bloom during early spring, adding a delightful pink due to the city skyline.
