#Artistliving #NewOrleansliving I love that I get to one day be in an international commercial and the next day perform in a classical ballet like Giselle. #feelingBlessed

I will never forget where I came from. Ballet will always be my vessel for discovering myself and the world. I am so grateful for the art of dance; It saved my life and has given me purpose. Who knew something like Art could feel like church to me. The dance studio became a place for me to escape from everything that was going on around me. I didn't know that dance would take me around the world and allow me to inspire so many people. I hope this video makes people realize that you can never judge a book by its cover and something like ballet could give you strength, honor, and purpose. Being grateful and graceful never felt so good. I will continue to pursue my dreams with grit and integrity. #GraceTakesGrit #thisonlythebeginning #ActorDancer #2YearInthemaking #blackboyJOy #ShareIt #magnoliaprojects #Neworleansraised Click link in bio or watch on my insta Tv for the full length video. When I'm teaching my men's ballet class it always reminds me of how I started out taking ballet classes ( #late #confused #whyiseveryonewhite ) It's cool that I got to be this guys first intro into ballet. He started ballet classes for a class project and I told him after his first class with me that he would have to keep taking classes. Even when his school project was over..... Because he had that much talent naturally. Guess what the class project ended months ago and he's still in mens ballet class. I always know that even if these guys don't become professional ballet dancers... They are still getting a great sense of discipline, focus, grit, and exposure to the classical arts. A skill that they can carry with them even if they decide to be a lawyer, doctor, or even president. Teaching reminds me of why I have to keep going as a performing artist. They motivate me just as much as I hope that I motivate them. #feelingblessed #kidsAreTheFuture #IteachToo #blackboysdancetoo #youngblackmen @neworleansschoolofballet 📸 Carrie kensilla
