I mean, it was still enjoyable, but... o.o
“I suspect you’re going to ask me to join the rebellion?”
"You know me as well as you always did, Henry," chuckled Becca as she leaned back in her seat. "I'm tired of standing by. I want to take Bancroft down a peg or two."
Henry considered the idea, brushing a hand through his hair. “Well...I suppose my position would be pretty helpful for that.”
“I’ll nap. I bet when I wake up I’ll be good as new.”
Colt gestured to the wound that stuck out on his friends side. He knew Dia was practically immortal, but that didn't mean his best friend was. "Sleeping with that? Yeah, no. You need to go to the doc."
“Nah, I’m fine,” Phil muttered stubbornly. “Just a scratch...”
“She’s hurt because of me. I messed up.”
Dia shook her head as she heard her rookie speaking to Finn, "Arran this isnt your fault. I made the wrong move and I messed up. Had ya not been there to catch me, I'd be a lot more hurt."
Arran looked skeptical at this, still blaming himself. “Are...you sure about that? I mean, I...”
“We all make mistakes at times,” Finn pointed out, putting a hand on Arran’s shoulder before moving closer to Dia to check on her.
“So what’s our plan? We do have a plan, right...?” Justin asked Wade nervously.
"Our plan is to wreak havoc over those who have wronged us," Wade gave a small shrug.
“Probably a long list then, huh?” Justin asked, partly joking.
“I’d rather be dead than to live in this place.”
Khava craned her neck, trying to look at the person in the cell across from her. Usually she wasn't very friendly or personable, but when people spoke like that she couldn't help but get defensive.
"Ya can't talk like that. Ya talk like that an' them bastards win.."
"They got a hypnotist? Mantis always said there could be others out there like her," Khava frowned, her eyes on the man in the cell across from her. "So...how we breakin out?"
Loki mouthed the word ‘Mantis’, trying to work out if the name was a familiar one. After a moment, he shook his head, giving up. It was possible he’d heard the name before, but he was struggling to recall at that moment. Instead he focused on her, brushing a hand through his dark, dishevled hair.
“I...suppose we could. Just not by teleportation. Doesn’t work. I assume they found a way to prevent such magic...”
Khava gave a thought, musing it over in her head. "So yer illusions don't work either, do they?"
Loki sighed and shook his head. “I am not sure. I... have not tried,” he replied. “It is possible they’ve only managed to block teleportation.”
"His twisted features give me such a chill.”
"Twisted?" Abigail Wyatt smiled as she watched her stable mate Luke Harper from across the room, "Oh he ain't twisted. And who are ya t' think that way?"
There was a gentleness in her eyes, a softness that the rest of the Wyatt's did not seemingly posses. "Ya wouldn'ta asked me to hang out if ya knew...wouldja?"
Seth hesitated as he looked up at her. She was...definitely attractive. But the other guy nearby still creeped him out and he wasn’t sure he wanted to make the guy mad. “Well...maybe?” He blurted out anyway.
There was a sadness in Abigail's gentle eyes and she looked down at her hands, "No one ever asks..."
“No?” Seth couldn’t help but look surprised. “Why? YOU seem alright...”
"Oh yes ah seem alright. Until ya heard mah last name. Then ya seemed t' think worse of me," Abigail pointed out.
Seth went to respond, then stopped. “Well... kind of?” Seth admitted. “More cautious maybe.”
“Help me to my feet. You will have to carry me.”
Brody nodded, kneeling down to help lift the other man without thinking twice. "Ya know, this would probably be a lot fuckin' easier if I wasn't so goddamn old."
Brody gave a nod of his head as he carried the young man to the hidden alcove. "How'd we end up in this mess anyways, kid? I thought we was being careful..."
Henry let out a weak chuckle. “Yeah. So did I. Seems they aren’t as stupid as we assumed them to be...”
"It's a shame too. Was hoping for an easy job for once," Brody chuckled. "You stay here, I'll set up camp."
Henry snorted. “This is easy, compared to other jobs I’ve done. Just don’t often slip up and get myself hurt.”
Brody's eyes scanned the woods as he listened to Henry. "Most good agents don't. Ya were always a good agent."
Henry shrugged. “To be fair, I usually do more of the rescue and extract side of things, not the full mission. More military than agent,” he pointed out. But Shield was low on trusted agents, so Henry had had to help out.
“I really don’t wanna die alone here.”
Nolee gave a soft blush, the king of Hollowood's words both one for worry and one that caused her to know what he was about to propose. "You...you will not die here alone, your majesty. What about your subjects, your friends?"
“It’s not like you would never see your home again,” Keaton responded with a huff, not meeting her eyes. “I do not intend to hold you prisoner.”
"If...if that is what you wish, you are the one man I could see myself building an empire with," admitted Nolee.
Keaton quickly looked back up at her, hopeful. “You could?”
“I’ll admit it’s all in my head but who says it can’t be real?”
Becca gave her mentor a frown. This wasn't like Clint, the paranoia and violence that had begun to manifest after the snap. She shouldered her bag, a concerned look on her face.
"If you think we're being followed, there could be some truth to that. I don't care if you think its only in your head or not."
“Who then?” Clint demanded. His grip tightened on his bow for a moment before he let it hang loose. He had nothing against Rebecca and didn’t want to lash out and hurt her. He’d come to the place intending to find information, but running into her there reminded him of how he’d ended up in the situation in the first place. It was...too much.
Leaning against the wall, Clint took a deep breath, struggling to hold back tears. “They... they’re all gone Bec,” he said quietly. “All of them.”
Those words broke her just as much as they broke Clint. Since her own family had been destroyed, and not by the snap, he had hoped that at least his would make it. At least one of them deserved to be happy after what they put out into the world, didn't they?
"Dads gone too," she whispered gently. "And I haven't seen Loki. Thor said he..."
Clint couldn’t help but look skeptical at first, having been told once before that Coulson had died. But that hadn’t been Becca, Fury had lied to them. She wasn’t likely to pull a trick like that, especially not now. Clint shook his head.
“Well if you’ve heard from Thor, that’s more than I got,” Clint muttered, leaving out the part where Natasha had called, once, but he’d been in shock and unable to answer.
He brushed a hand through his hair, trying to hide the fact his hands were shaking as he recalled the event. “It...it happened right in front of me Bec,” he told her. “I was showin’ Lila how to use a bow. Turned away just for a moment when Laura called us, then by the time I looked back, she...she was...” He took in a sharp breath, forgetting at that point that they were in an enemy base.

Richard Coyle as Moist von Lipwig
“Your kind is frail and weak and I want to destroy you all.”
"My kind?" Nolee asked, raising an eyebrow. She knew that most people detested heroes now, but she had never given up her position as Liberty Belle. She felt it would be a disservice to her father.
"Why dontcha come over here and find out how frail and weak I am?"
Bancroft glared at the girl, one hand tightly gripping his cane. He didn’t actually need it at this point, simply keeping it for show. Besides, why ruin the surprise? To all these reteched hero types, he was simply an old man who hated them...
“Foolish words, little girl!” He laughed. “Foolish indeed.”
She wasn't afraid. Being out in the field had not scared Nolee since the days when she was a sidekick. Her eyes scanned the man, hands balled into fists, "I ain't gonna beat a helpless old man. Give up and you'll go in quietly."
“Ah! But see, this is why you are foolish!” Bancroft laughed, the sound cold. “You assume I am helpless...” From his hands came a red, glowing energy which spread to cover his cane, causing it to look very similar to the weapons from a well known space movie as he pointed the cane at her, taking up a fencing position.
Nolee took a shaky breath as she watched the glowing, red energy cover the man's cane. So he had powers, huh? This could be more of a problem than she thought.
"I ain't goin' easily," Nolee spoke as she doubled up her fists, now aware that this man could very well kill her.
“No?” Bancroft asked with a raised eyebrow. “Well, that shall at least make this fun then.”
“I’d rather be dead than to live in this place.”
