Humans are weird: stress relief techniques
Don’t know if this has been done before, but I wanna play to
I’ve been stalking more of these humans are weird posts and wonder how aliens would react to some of their human companions stress reliving techniques, especially if they’re quite unusual or quite alarming especially so to the new non human recruits.
Obviously the stress relief depends on what caused the stress, as well as some people may have one way of stress relief, others have multiple ways of doing so. (Nasty break up? Ice cream or screaming. Exam? Trying to summon Satan or simply crying. Work? Figiting or biting/ chewing may ensue)
I can’t help but imagine what one of the alien recruits may report about their certain human comrade.
“Captain Da’Gora of Squad 451AD reporting in: we are 45 minutes and 34 seconds in this field mission, so far we have had only one minor casualty, ka’vena has suffered a non fatal injury to one of their appendages, from some of the surrounding flora that turned out to be a predatory species.
This did strike us to an alarm at first, but were soon after calmed through their reassurance, that they are stable, and will start their regeneration process soon.
Despite this claim, the human So’fii, remains stiff and cautious, her body began to vibrate, and her breathing began to hasten as well as her appendages began to shuffle, adjusting and re adjusting her weapon, when notified of her condition she simply waved off and bared her teeth, a human way of giving reassurance it seems… let’s just hope this mission continues swiftly.”
3 days later back at the base ship…
“This is captain Da’Gora of Squad 451AD the mission was a success, we have brought back samples of various kinds of fauna and flora, as well as creatures that had proved to be otherwise, harmless to the crew, we starilised them of course.
The human’s ability in the field did indeed meet the standards of those at the recruitment station, they remained vigilant in their goal, as well as observant of her crew, apparently even more so after Ka’vena got injured, despite being fully healed, she still grew ever more protective of not only Ka’vena, but also for the result of the crew, she wouldn’t let us take samples unless she investigated first.
I have heard of humans growing possessive of those they care for, but never really knew how far they’d go for those they bonded with… it was quite indeering, if abit tedious…
A-Anyway, it has seemed that the human started to become more distressed the more we neared to the base, at the time we brushed it off as their ‘adrenaline rush’ that they seem to have after most missions, but crew members have now reported strange high pitched sounds and loud crashing noises coming from their cabin, some say that they have tried to reach contact with her through their cominicators, but So’fii would not answer, some tried to knock on their door, but again no reply.
The crew memebers began to panic, wondering if she was in danger, I myself was about to enter the emergency code to her door, until another human recruit, Jon’ Kelman I believe? Calmed us, telling us that it was just So’fii’s way of ‘taking off the the stress’ and that she’ll be fine by tomorrow morning, saying that ‘she’ll be happy to know that so many cares for her’ before leaving to his own duties.
We had nothing else but his words for reassurance, but non the less we left So’fii to her own devices I just hope she’ll be better soon.”
This was way longer than it needed to be, I apologise, but I had to get it out otherwise no sleepy time for me.
