It can be a double edged sword but I like to fully immerse myself in my writing. I’ll have multiple playlists, Pinterest boards, and even several running documents besides the draft because I like character commentary, character studies, and accidental indulgent AUs.

I also like reading/watching/listening to whatever genre I’m working in. But! my biggest hype comes from sharing with friends and writing buddies. I’m not good at celebrating my own wins and milestones but having a crew behind you who do really is a blessing!

From Project Devour, where Dazo’s a good fighter but in this one his opponent gave him the old razzle dazzle ✨surprise✨

The shock of the pain drove him to his knees. He didn't even know he was on the ground until his mask was torn off. It clattered to the side, rolling on its side to a stop beside a body lying on the floor. Cold metal pressed under Dazo's jaw, forcing his chin up. He knew each and every one of his weapons - the weight of them,every scratch and edge on them. The barrel of his gun dug into his skin and he choked out a hard laugh.

I write when I can which is typically snatches of words during downtime at work. Sometimes I’m able to get some writing in while I’m waiting out rush hour, which are usually 1-2 hour stretches.

I HAD a schedule - that burned me out severely in the latter portion of 2025 into Jan-Feb of 2026. I’d like to find a happy medium for myself between not writing at all and writing consistently which is. Honestly. Something I’ve been chasing for years now rip. I’ll find it one day I hope lol.

Sometimes I think about how Bungo Baggins built this wonderful expansive hobbit-hole for him and Belladonna with all these rooms and everything but then they only ever had Bilbo, and then Bilbo inherited it but he never married and only ever had Frodo, and then Frodo inherited it but he lived alone and then it passed into the hands of the Sackville-Bagginses and through Lotho to Saruman and was defiled--but THEN! Frodo takes it back and brings Sam and Rosie and their family in, and then he leaves it to them and they FILL Bag End with all their thirteen children and it becomes the Ancestral Family Home for an entirely new family!! And that's just enriched by all the inheriting that happened to pass it through these generations of people who loved each other to GET it to Sam!

It's just...just because you may not know who or what you're building something for doesn't mean the building you've done is wasted effort.

Lots of writing advice on tumblr. It's been years since I've written fiction in a serious way, but I did write a couple of (bad) novels in my early 20's, a bunch of short stories, and also a few hundred thousand words of LARP writing, and I do have a bacherlor's of science in creative writing (lol).

From what I can tell, there are only three universally applicable pieces of writing advice:

Read a lot (mandatory)

Show your writing to people (mandatory)

Have something wrong with you in a way that is impossible to articulate except by writing a novel (optional)

*slaps the top of the WIP* this bad boy can fit so many concepts and so little time

For Space! Pirate & Assassin, they come as advertised on the box - but the sexiness is turned down for now

Zamira starts as a mechanic and sometimes intra-system pilot for a smuggling ring. Zamira ends up being a pirate, partially by accident, and mostly for the bit - the bit being taking Asher hostage (does it happen in my current draft, no not yet, but that’s a future me problem)

Asher’s mostly subterfuge and has the ability and training to use lethal force. But if he can get away with Not Going Near Anybody Actually, he would opt for the non social option. The best part of Asher’s job is that he mostly doesn’t need to be Near people for him to be okay enough at his job not to get turned into slush. The worst part of Asher’s job is that he does unfortunately Need to Be Around People To Do His Job.
