He mentions how people are “lining up for food” (commonly referred to as bread lines) and then says “that’s a good thing”.

To be fair, he did say that in 1985.

Although, if it means nobody starves, bread lines are good. As he said, otherwise the rich get the food and the poor starve, which is how it was for a long time. In such situations, bread lines allow everybody to get at least some food for themselves. I’m not saying I think bread lines are good, but there is that justification.

The thing is that bread lines *don’t* stop people from starving. Those bread lines are the *cause* of starvation, because that food is all the communist government gives their people.

The only place you see these bread lines regularly are in communist countries, because the government are the ones in control of the farms. Those “few people with the food” are the political elite of these communist countries.

Bread lines are not there to stop starvation. They are the product of a communist government giving as little to its people as it possibly can, while keeping as much as possible for themselves.

Sanders knows this.

If they don’t (which there is a chance, but they are very large issues) then we have more reason to worry, but as of now we can only wait and see.
