Because I believe changing the racial, sexual, or ethnic background of original established characters to cajole gullible people into thinking they are now part of some kind of inclusive, diverse fantasy world instead of coming up with unique, interesting, original characters to draw audiences in is lazy pandering of the highest order.  

But the cold, hard truth is that they have attempted many times to create new minority characters (not that women are even a minority) in many roles with little to no success despite their forced politically correct efforts to do so.  This has left them no choice but to completely reinvent established popular characters to ride on the coattails of their success.  And because the pyramid of intersectionality includes women for some stupid reason, now they have to make a big deal of an unoriginal, completely forgettable, C-list character like Jane Foster.

This is just Disney continuing the same woke politics which ruined Marvel’s comics by forcing this garbage into their film business because they believe they have a better chance of looking virtuous to wider audiences.  It’s both reinventing the wheel and fooling ignorant audiences all the same.

Well, let’s see: Jane Foster in the MCU has shown to be a woman who is very dedicated to science to the point of her taking her studies to a place where she only has two people helping her: her father figure and a friend. She is not taken seriously by the scientific community on her findings because SHIELD was actively repressing knowledge on space-y stuff. Not once in all the movies wasbshe protrayed as being a physical fighter. Instead she is shown to have great intellect and even be able to understand what aliens (Asgardians) were talking about. 

But now we are going to have a mpvie where she is a fighter? Instead of focusing on her actual strengths (intellect) we are now throwing away her actual character just so people can see GIFS of her beating up some random bad guy and be like “yaaas queen slaaaaay!!!1!”

Also, being able to lift Mjolnir means she receives the power of Thor, one of Thor’s powers is super strength. I am a powerful woman, I’m not one who goes around wishing I can defined myself from ‘bad men’ like captain marvel, I have gun and carry knives I can do it myself. I also pointed out Black Widow above why I used that clip, she’s an awesome character. She felt guilt for her past enough she through herself off a cliff to save Clint she’s a powerful woman.

And I don’t like that scene which is what I was talking about really I didn’t frame it well honestly. It was good they cut it. The movie scene were she doesn’t response and the guy does the normal human thing and calls her a freak walking off and then she steals the clothes and the bike riding off was good. That reminded me of the CA Winter Soldier scene were Cap stole the car and was like ‘we’re just borrowing’ it was done better.

Over all I don’t hate captain Marvel, she’ll never be my favorite and I don’t think Brie Larson is a good enough actress to play her how they really wanted, the shot little emotion type stuff, but I didn’t hate the character still. She was better in endgame specially with Rhodey.

She also reminds me for of spiderman than Star-lord. Spiderman got powers more like she did but had to learn he was a hero without the powers (or suit), She never really did that, sep one small scene were her hands were bond, she used her powers all the time when she should’ve shown she didn’t need to. Like what shoulda been the fight with her boss. She just never quite got as good as she shoulda been

You know saying her more like Star lord or hell Loki or characters like that you know Anti Heroes would have made her better. Not always doing the right thing but for the right reasons That would have made the plot twist at the end better too. She finds out she’s been doing wrong things for the wrong reason fighting for the Kree but she’s a hero in the end flipping sides.

The biggest difference is that Captain Marvel showed no signs of internal struggle, no signs of fighting with her identity, and no real emotional reaction to shit. She doesn’t want to be a good person, or help people. She has nothing to redeem herself for, and acts like she’s above morality.

She never really had a moral enemy in her movie, either. No part of her character in specific was explored, and the flashbacks in the movie don’t really serve to ground her character to anything or anyone. It’s like she was given all this detailed backstory and stuff but keeps forgetting about it in place of everything else she does.

And also Brie Larson said she could wield Mjolnir, completely ignoring the fact there’s a level of moral and ethical purity or redemption required for that that we didn’t see/doesn’t exist.

Frankly, of the role Captain Marvel had in the movies, including endgame, I think all of it could be described as her just doing her job.
