If I could paint the day it would be muted green and mostly gray. There are long strands of the year where your mind is a haze and nothing worthwhile comes about. But little by little, the strokes add up and formulate a composition that evokes great self-fulfillment. Each stroke, meaningless as stand alones. Every one of them necessary for the painting in progress. Every day matters. The loud and silent. The eventful and unmoving. I’m suddenly too aware of the fact that I’m leaving the country in a matter of days, that I’m going to graduate school and I feel nowhere close to ready (especially because I feel like I won’t know enough compared to others), and all-in-all, I feel like people think I’m way smarter than I actually am and I just got really lucky with all of this.

It’s a really unsettling and uncomfortable feeling.
