There are many types of chicken feed, which vary according to the farming. Every type of farming has its process which includes different types of feed. Broiler and layer farming is different as their process is also different. Broiler farming deals with the sole purpose of broiler farming is to produce the chicken meat for consumption on the other hand layer farming deals with the production of eggs. Poultry feed requires a sufficient amount of protein and carbohydrates, along with the necessary vitamins, dietary minerals, and an adequate supply of water. Lactose fermentation of feed can aid in supplying vitamins and minerals to poultry. Egg-laying hens require 4 grams per day of calcium of which 2 grams are used in the egg. Oyster shells are often used as a source of dietary calcium. Certain diets also require the use of grit, tiny rocks such as pieces of granite, in the feed. Grit aids in digestion by grinding food as it passes through the gizzard. Grit is not needed if the commercial feed is used. Calcium iodate is used as a supplement to iodine.  As we talk about their feeds, they are not different from each other, the poultry feed is made up of:

Culling & Different Ways of Culling

Cull birds are also known as inferior birds, as they can no longer produce eggs with the same production supply. There are two ways to remove the cull bird or the inferior bird from the production, which are

Sight Culling: It is a process in which the identification of the cull bird is on a different basis like undersized, underdeveloped, weak, crippled, or the birds get the diseases, which have very little chance to get developed in the laying bird. Do not evaluate the bird critically as some birds do not mature at the early stage, but later on the bird might get mature at the later stage. Birds also with the slipped wings, crossed beaks, one or both eyes are blind are also removed from the main area & all these birds are put in the different areas so that they can get into the molting. This process is known as Sight Culling.

Culling by Individual Inspection: This is another method to remove the non-laying bird. It is the process in which the birds are closely inspected based on their body characteristics, if the body of the bird is weak or undeveloped then that bird is removed. It is mainly done on the nights when the production is low, with the small phone torchlight.

How Poultry Transportation Cages are made?

Transportation or Handling of poultry is a crucial part of the poultry industry. If poultry birds or the eggs are not delivered to the market & the market is not distributing the poultry products to the consumer. It is not possible to sustain in business without any consumption of the products. Poultry transportation vehicles are specially made for the sole purpose of poultry transportation. Poultry bird transportation vehicles contain special made cages, which are 8 inches wide , 12 inches deep and 10 inches tall per bird in dimensions. Cages should have to be properly  ventilated & should have sufficient height to allow a bird to stand. They should be made of the rigid floor and it should be designed in the form that the bird does not protrude.  Sharp edges, hinges or latches should not be put into the cages.
