SEPHIROTH MAKING PANCAKES WITH HIS S/O WOULD INCLUDE:
Sephiroth is a silent lover. Meaning every word you say, every action you’ve done, every dream you dreamt, it’s locked somewhere inside his head and he knows just about everything there is to you. You never have to remind him twice of what your favorite things are, because he’s heard them already, countless times maybe, but he never forgets.
You probably mentioned in an off-hand comment at a restaurant or in bed. How much you love the soft, delicate taste of homemade pancakes with your favorite sauce dripping onto the plate. The numerous toppings, the sweetened buzz on your lips, the cherished moments of a homely life with nothing but the food upon your plate and the glow of early mornings. It’s a simple and quant little scene, and you crave it just about as much as the pancakes themselves.
But Sephiroth isn’t a cook, nor does he care for food as much, nor as well, as Angeal. It appears to be more like a chore, and though he knows he can make it, does he really want to?
He’ll spend most of the days leading up to the event looking through about every cooking book under the sun. Every recipe is different, every cook who’s ever spent their time in the kitchen has their own tale to tell. He can never figure out which one is the “right” one, but it makes the job easier when you’re both in the kitchen.
But when the day comes, everything becomes a total mess. Pancake batter on the ceiling, flour in your hair, cracked egg shells falling to the floor as you tried to clean the sticky batter from your fingers. But despite the looming feeling of having to clean it up later, it’s a moment you can never forget.
It becomes the one of the few times you hear him laugh. It’s cut clear and fills the room, so precise, as if you could bottle it forever. You tell him he should do it more often, and he gives you this softened look, lips curved just at the tips, and says, “we’ll see.”
Eventually, hours later passed morning, you two finally make something worth cooking. It’s still lumpy, and not the best, but before you could add it to the pan in your excitement, he finally pours in your favorite part: chocolate chips.
With a satisfied grin, and sweat building at your forehead, you finally have a platter of decent looking pancakes. Some of the chocolate chips have oozed out of the sides, and some didn’t look completely cooked, but it didn’t matter. You did it!
The best part of it all? Sitting down at your table and having him try it. He makes a grimace, he’s not a big fan of sweets, and he swore he ate a ball of uncooked flour the two of you didn’t stir in correctly, but he sees how much you enjoy them. How you smother them in different toppings, not caring there had been errors. He doesn’t say anything demeaning, just listens to you quietly as you make more plans for tomorrow’s breakfast.
