Ok. What you're gonna want to do is chop up a cucumber and put it in a bowl. Then you're gonna sprinkle a generous portion of salt on top. Then you're gonna drizzle them with a balsamic vinaigrette and gently shake to combine, leaving you with a cool and refreshing summer snack. In 15 seconds dangerous and burly men are going to drag me away to an unknown second location. Remember everything I've taught you. I love you
at some point in your life you will be boiling fruit, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a pot to make a syrup or jam. the instructions will tell you to simmer for a certain amt of time. your timer will go off and you will look at the pot and go, "hm, this doesn't look thick enough. maybe i'll let it go for another 10 minutes." this is the devil speaking. it's only so liquid right now because it is at boiling point. it will thicken when it cools down. learn from the follies of my youth and do not let this happen to you
at some point in your life you will be making a sauce or a stew in which you need to add cornstarch to thicken it. and you will prepare a slurry of starch in cold water and think "this looks like way too little starch to thicken this amount of liquid." this is the devil speaking. cornstarch instantly polymerizes at 95°C and if you add too much it will turn into an impossibly thick goop.
at some point in your life you will be making some sort of cream based dessert that requires gelatin to thicken it. and you will soak some gelatin sheets in water and think "this is too few gelatin sheets for this amount of cream." this is the devil speaking. it will thicken in the fridge and if you add too much you will end up with milk jelly
at some point in your life you will be baking cookies. you will take the sheet out after twelve minutes as the recipe instructs and the cookies will still be glistening and soft. "these don't seem cooked enough," you will think to yourself, "i should place them back into the oven until their edges are nice and golden." this is the devil talking. this is how you get dry, overdone cookies. the cookies will continue to bake on the warm sheet for several more minutes and then harden up after sitting on a rack for a while. trust the process. trust the process.
at some point in your life you will be adding a small pasta to a soup and you will think "that is not enough small pasta." this is the devil talking. the pasta will absorb the stock and expand. this is how you end up with a soup that is a solid mass of soggy ditalini.
At some point in your life you will be adding garlic to a dish and you will think "that is not enough garlic." These are angels speaking. They are correct. Add more garlic.
Me in 2006: I’m still bitter about that
Me in 2016: I’m still salty about that
Me in 2026, probably: I’m still umami about that
i made brownies but the real highlight were the brownie crisps that formed from the batter that wouldn’t slide into the mass…. it’s really yummy!
OUCHHHH MY FINGERS
bacon onion pizza toast 🤤
twilight eat burgy
Girls will LITERALLY eat burger
i’ve tested the claim of “bacon is crispier if you cook it with water first” and i conclude… the claim is correct. bacon sandvich
bulgogi…. yay! i used too much meat so ig this is gonna be our dinner too.
i added a little bit of rice cake into the bulgogi because my school cafeteria used to do that too. it’s quite yummy.
[EGGS: STIMBOARD]
IDC that this post is kinda long compared to most stimboards I see, I LOVE EGGS!

‘bread is bad for you’ ‘rice is bad for you’ sorry im not subscribing to the idea that staple grains that have been integral to cultures for centuries are evil. i love you carbs
salad works amazing when you spinkle a little salt+pepper+olive oil
i got sick of eating nothing but rice for dinner so i decided to take matters into my own hands. i was actually so prepared for this that i was too antsy for the whole day. oops. i did read a few volumes of Dungeon Meshi though. i’m halfway through!
because my korean debit card hasn’t arrived yet, i’ve been making my meals from what i could find in the fridge. and the thing about family fridges is that they tend to contain all sorts of shit… like 3 loaves of pita bread, a withering load of carrots and cabbages, hausmacher senf (seems to be sweet mustard), and frozen chicken! remembering my fried chicken experiment from a (checks) week (?!) ago, i decided to make a fried chicken sandwich this time.
i also made some experimental batches of tater tots, but…. i think i did something wrong and skipped a step, because it didn’t really come out the way i wanted it to. it tasted okay, but not really tater tot-y… maybe it was the fact i didn’t add butter? i am disappointed, how dare the shorts lie to me about how easy it is to make potato-crispies
mom and dad said it was yummy. i also agree with them.
came back home after half a year and saw mushy apples in our fridge…. yknow what that means, it’s applesauce time
you can tell the area has changed when you see that i am not using my 20 dollar kitchen tools anymore
me: okay i spent the last two days commuting back home i think i’m just gonna be bedbound all day
me a day later: fuckkk the apples are going bad, better fuck around in the kitchen for a bit. ow my legs
applesauce…. finished! would’ve been nice if i made it fill the whole jar up but i think i made enough applesauce for now. and also we didn’t have the right jars for the amount i made so it was either the big jar or ten tiny ones

i made this back in college as my final meal. pasta (made before i put my stuff in the movers van) and garlic bread (made at the moment because there were school baking pans lying around)
garlic bread was much better than the first time i tried but…. i shoulda took it out of the oven a litter earlier
