So, I had this idea/concept for Wither in Marvel Rivals finished for a while now (it's literally my icon) but I held back on making a post due to having delusions of finishing my Elixir design anytime soon. I'm very busy and I don't know when that will be possible so I'm posting Kevin by himself.

Mimicking a style like this is very hard and time consuming but I think I did an alright job! If anything the only part I'm not super content with is the nameplate but they have different styles even in game so I don't think it looks terribly out of place.

I had this idea when the Rivals game was originally announced earlier last year and we got some information about the lore including heroes from different universes being pulled to the same point in time. I wanted to make a version of Kevin that's a bit (or a lot) different considering the liberty the game lore gives us to essentially play with AUs.

Some time ago (when X-Men Red was still being published) I had some thoughts about Kevin going to Arakko (mainly to escape the threat of Selene being in the QC in Krakoa). I just generally liked the idea of him and Wrongslide settling with the artists in the Morrowlands. I also think that referring to his power as a mutant weapon would be positive for him, something he can chose to wield however he wants, and also considering the gift and curse nomenclatures never did him any good.

The universe this Kevin hails from is based on the Orbis Stellaris timeline from Dead X-Men, in which both Earth and Arakko are destroyed, and Sunspot leads the Starjammers. In this one some of the mutants in Arakko survived (Sunspot, Khora, Kobak, Wrongslide and Wither) and they're the basis of my Starjammers line-up.

He's a cowboy partly because I thought it would be fun and partly because I lined up the destruction of Earth/Arakko to the third Gala (like in main universe Fall of X) and both the boots and the hat were supposed to be part of a Hellfire Gala outfit. It's simultaneously meant to be a nod to Elixir's outfit (the outfit for Egg was marked by Luciano Vecchio as being inspired by Gaucho couture, but you can see the references to that aesthetic in the other four too. Gaucho is the name of a argentinian brand, in reference to South American cattle herders - cowboys! :D) and also the idea that Kevin's outfit was the last gift Emma gave to him.

Lastly - the simbol in his holster is a reference to the Hellions :)
