It was with such ease that the Shadow Dragon Slayer caught his girlfriend in his arms, holding her as she covered him in kisses. Rogue had been away on a rather long mission, and had been out of contact with her for a couple of months. It had been the best decision, choosing to stop by Fairy Tail on his way back to his own home.

“I missed you too, my love.” he whispered to her, not wanting to let go of her. “I’m sorry that I was gone so long.” This time, it was his turn to lean in and kiss her gently. He had missed these sweet moments, and he no longer cared who saw them together.

“I’m back now.”

She scoffed quietly, rolling her eyes, though her hand didn’t move from his shoulder as she looked down at him. “Yes, you will be fine. But you will be fine faster if you stay in bed like you’re supposed to and let your body heal like it needs to.” She knew, all too well, that he’d been injured worse than this, but that didn’t change the fact that she found herself strongly disliking seeing him injured. It wasn’t a feeling she was accustomed to having, so she refused to focus on it too much and instead re-focused on him.

“Oh don’t tempt me. If that’s what it will take to keep you in this bed, then I can get rope and be back here before you can even stand up.” Her eyes glinted, dark promises glimmering in their depths as she stared him down. “I don’t care what your intentions are. MY intentions are to get you healed and back to yourself as quickly as possible. The more you fight me the longer that will take.” When his eyes opened again, she found herself locked in his gaze, suddenly rendered silent for the time being. “I…” How could she answer that? Did she even have an answer? The more she thought about it, the more she realized that she wasn’t sure she wanted to answer that question, but it would be awfully suspicious if she didn’t. “Of course it is.” She finally answered, looking away from him. “I care about my guildmates, and you are a guildmate - thus I care about you.” It was the simplest explanation she could give without allowing herself to delve further down that particular rabbit hole.

Rogue’s eyes widened when he heard that threat. Oh dear lord. Had she really just threatened to tie him to the bed? That was both the most terrifying and intriguing threat. For several moments, all Rogue could think of was that exact scene, letting it play out in his head.

Catching that hesitation and sensing the shift, Rogue reached out and gently grasped her wrist. “I don’t believe you, Minerva.” He said bluntly. “I have been injured several times before and you never once fussed over me.” The usually silent Dragon Slayer was wondering what had suddenly changed. “Now. Tell me why you are really fussing over me. I won’t rest until you do.” he warned.

Rogue shifted as best he could to get comfortable, and to be able to watch her whilst he waited for her to answer. He wasn’t going to let this instance go. Not until he had a proper answer from her.

For once in his life, Rogue had agreed to take some time off and just have a little fun. Knowing that they were having a Halloween movie night, he had dressed in comfy skinny jeans, a loose t-shirt, and a hoodie. His hair was even pulled up in a small bun, so that it didn’t get annoying during the movie.

Getting comfy in his regular seat, Rogue caught sight of his partner and rolled his eyes. They had been close for almost their entire lives, and yet he still wasn’t used to how excited the other Dragon Slayer got. “Wow...”

Pulling his black blanket over his lap, he got all comfy and stole a piece of popcorn, which he popped into his mouth.

“You’re sure it’s actually a scary movie this time?”

She bit back the soft sigh of relief when he relented, laying back down. She really didn’t want to fight with him on this, but it also wasn’t something she was willing to give any leeway on. As much as he hated being fussed over - he was a Dragon Slayer after all - she knew that she needed to keep him in that bed if he was going to heal quickly. Pushing himself would only hinder his progress. “If it’s necessary to do so, then yes. Do not underestimate my determination to see you heal properly.” Her brow furrowed more at the wince of pain, and she turned to his bedside table, reaching for the pain meds his doctor had left.

“I would figure out a way, I can guarantee you that.” His challenge was dismissed quickly, her gaze never faltering as her voice strengthened with force and determination. “You will remain here until you are cleared to do otherwise, and if that means I have to move in temporarily to keep an eye on you, then so be it.” His question threw her off a little, and she glanced down, focusing on the pills in her hand for a moment. “I care…I care because you are a guild mate of mine and you are injured. I just want to see you get better. Is that such a terrible thing?”

Rogue sighed. “I don’t see why it matters. We both know that I’m going to be fine anyway.” He grumbled. He had been through far worse in his life, and he knew that this was nothing to worry about. Instead of fighting her anymore, Rogue just closed his eyes and rested his head on the pillow. It still felt foreign, having one of his guild mates willingly fuss over him, and he didn’t know how to handle it.” “Short of tying me to the bed, you have no chance of keeping me here.” he warned her. The shadow dragon slayer was certainly the easier of the two to read. His mood always seemed to be so dark and stormy, and he never seemed to be happy. “You know as well as I do that I have no intentions of staying in this bed until then, Minerva.” Opening his eyes, he was suddenly thrown. “Is that really the only reason you are fussing over me? Because I’m a guild mate? Because this would be a first if it is.”

It took a few moments of looking her in the eyes, before the Dragon Slayer groaned and lay back in his bed. He didn’t like being fussed over, and it was hard to him to do as she told him. The problem was, he knew that he couldn’t win this argument with her. “Do you plan on staying at my bedside the whole time, or?” he tried to sass her, but ended up wincing in pain.

“As if you could keep me in this bed, Minerva.” he challenged. No one had actually found a way to get him to rest yet, and he doubted that anyone in his guild would. It was practically impossible. “Why do you care about what the doctor says anyway?”

“You’re in no condition to be walking around. Just stay in bed and let me take care of you.”

Rogue let out a huff at her words. Though he was loath to admit it, he truly wasn’t in a state to be walking around. Though the Shadow Dragon Slayer tended to heal quickly, he was still in a rather miserable state. His last mission had gone... sour and he was meant to be on bed rest, though he had a tendency to ignore doctors and healers. “...” Minerva on the other hand... Well, she was a lot harder to ignore.

“I’m fine.” He said bluntly, sitting up in bed. A good portion of his chest was bandaged, and his shoulder was strapped up, but he seemed to be in a bad mood more than anything else. Rogue had never really been one to show pain, which meant it became obvious when he was badly injured.

“Besides. I’m needed at the guild hall.” He was trying so hard to be independent still.
