Did I expect smut when reading the first part (previous upload) ? Yes. Did I enjoy it nonetheless? Also yes.
Even if your writing wasn't as good as it is, smut is not a requirement for every single work you produce

In all fairness, I did ask if ppl would be up for a smutty sequel, and then didn't deliver 😅 I was apologising for the blue balls mostly, but you're right about smut not being a requirement. I used to think smut scenes were crucial and crammed in as many as possible. Now that I'm pretty much writing what I want to read, I'll pepper them in where it feels right or...as with the latest two fics... postpone them. I made the mistake of jumping to the smut too quickly in a previous series and it's so jarringly obvious when I read it now, it infuriates me :(
