many things were decided during eisir discussions about koru si, particularly about reproduction, kids, and maternal/paternal jobs
some of my favs:

This was just a very rough guideline of one of the continents in Eisir for Roy’s benefit. However loose and doodly, I enjoyed doing it because Chase was watching with comments and questions because worldbuilding is his jam.
Kite exists to brighten Oti’s day.
Only partly successful doodle of a Koru Si’s skull. Mixing bat and snake is an interesting challenge.
Gesture doodles as I fool around with translating the flat anatomy guide to something more solid. These are such majestic creatures.
And a quick sassy Kite.
idk how close to her troll colors Oti’s going to end up being, but here’s an attempt at penning her down.
A pretty rough overhead guide to possible anatomy for the Koru Si monster form. Looking rather lizard-like here, since I tried not to go overboard with body/tail length.
Here, have some lady Koru Si gesture doodles. The middle one is conspiring to look as unladylike as possible (like Oti).
Thinking about the Koru Si and moving away from feathered serpent trope.
drawing front views is hard whine whine
left is me doodling aimlessly and getting nowhere fast. right is after ~15 minutes of eyeballing deer refs and doing practice scribbles based on them.
this calls for more studies
Someone once told me I couldn’t call a character a manticore unless it had a human face. I proceeded to photoshop Barbie’s head onto a dragon, and that… somehow led to making a species based off of it.
I think I’ve got the anatomy in the general ballpark of where I want to go finally.
Left is Tsuide (male) and Right is Nilai (female). I wanted the physical gender differences to be subtle, but I really liked the idea of females having more varied markings. idk aliens that are pretending to be dragons and mammals but are neither
Some quick jottings of Traelle anatomy. Leaning heavily towards monkey here.
Dude would be found in the forests (he has M’naa’s color, but M’naa would be much bulkier), and the lady is a saggy old desert dweller (probably from the coasts, judging by her vine plants)
Scribblydo of Macaw bothering M’naa.
