You should never feel bad about wanting to change or re-shape yourself into the person you want to be. Just because people have an old image of you in their minds, doesn’t mean it’s your responsibility to maintain that. Saying things like “what will they think of me?” will only place fear in your heart and paralyze you from reaching your greatest potential. You deserve to meet the highest version of youself during this lifetime. You can out grow, re-new, evolve as much as you desire. There’s so many layers to us, unravel and explore all of you.

something i’m still salty about:

is the fact that mal literally almost immediately grew disdain towards alina once he found she was grisha. like, he literally just disregarded all the years spent together and immediately started attacking her for changing (like its a bad thing????). he basically hated her for having a reason to have character develpoment, he wanted her to be weak and that just showed. like he didn’t even try to help her??? or give her solutions??? or just be mature enough to understand what the best thing was for (to be with other grisha so she could control it and not kill herself repressing it). like taking away romantic feelings, a good friend wants the best for someone right??? and then he has the GALL to suddenly realize his feelings for her when he sees her w another guy and then help her but even then still try to give a cap/limit to what she can do.

idk that shit made me mad just now.

alina is dumb too,, she happily prances over to him in the end. like he was really something to fight for. she literally was the only one that could bring the darkling to his knees. or be with nikolai??? a man that could literally bring her happiness and challenge her and do BIG things and not limit her and actually considers her and wanted her feedback and wanted her by his side as a equal.
