Salalah, Oman 2018
“The Khareef (monsoon) leads to a unique ecological habitat along the coast known as the Arabian Peninsula coastal fog desert.
The monsoon affects Dhofar and Al Mahrah Governorates from about June to early September. Towns such as Salalah depend upon the khareef for water supply”

THE KOGI TRIBE, Colombia 2016
‘For four centuries these people, the last surviving high civilisation of pre-conquest America (Kogi Tribe) have watched in silence from their hidden world in the mountains of Colombia. They have kept their world alive and intact, and kept their distance. Now, in what they fear may be the closing days of life on earth, they have summoned us to listen.
The words of the Elder Brothers need to be taken seriously for a number of reasons… They offer us a way of understanding our own past, and insights into the real meaning and profundity of archaic religious thought.
But above all, we need to listen because of the importance of their message. The Elder Brothers believe that they are guardians of life on earth. They see the world as a single living being which they have to look after and care for. Their whole way of life is dedicated to nurturing the flora and fauna of the world; they are, in short, an ecological community whose morality is wholly concerned with the health of the planet. Now, the Elder Brothers have seen the changes start which mark the end of life. The world is beginning to die. They know that we are killing it. That is why the Elder Brothers have spoken. They wish to warn us, and to teach us…
…. We have to learn to understand the world in a different way. That is why they are desperately anxious for us to listen. They say it is not yet too late. They also say that they will not speak again.’

“DEL TAYRONA HASTA EL TOTUMO”
Location #1: Tayrona National Park
“The foothills of the “Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta” mountain range presenting a variety of climates & geography in the highest coastal mountain in the world”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tayrona_National_Natural_Park
*Approximately 200 KM away on the same coastline sits:
Location #2: La Cienaga Grande y El Volcan del Totumo
“Due to ‘El Niño’ the north of Colombia was severely impacted by the drought phenomenon since 2015. The small ‘Totumo’ volcano was a tourist destination where visitors typically bathed inside the mud-volcano for the alleged ash-healing properties, washing themselves thereafter directly in the wetlands behind it. The Cienaga (wetland) in the area used to reach approx. between 1 to 2 meters in depth, had extensive coral reeves / mangroves & it was used by local fishermen”

PALENQUE
“Spaniards introduced kidnapped African slaves in South America through the Magdalena River Valley. Its mouth is close to the important port of Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) where ships full of Africans arrived. Some Africans escaped and set up Palenque de San Basilio, a town close to Cartagena. They tried to free all African slaves arriving at Cartagena and were quite successful. Therefore, the Spanish Crown issued a Royal Decree (1691), guaranteeing freedom to the Palenque de San Basilio Africans. These Africans were the First Free Africans in America”

Why was Germany’s recent TTIP protest the country’s largest in over a decade?
"More than 150,000 people that gathered last Saturday in Berlin – in an immense display of plurality, civility, and sociopolitical concerns, unmarred by violence or conflict – are confident that there are other policies and practices that can better, more sustainably, and more ethically, shape and direct the global politics of the 21st century"
